That's why we say go 17. It's in between and still workable and great if you want to upgrade.

Issue for us that I now Peter is looking at is upgrading brakes and then you can't run smaller than 17.

And thing is you would be risking damage just coming to see if you want to do what we do if you go to hard on the 18s.

Besides your desire for looks of an 18 I don't see a single reason why not to go with 17s as it will sort out any issue you have with fitment going with the 265 70 17, you'll be capable of trying harder trails and can expand on what you have and not need to buy new wheels.
It's a great starting point for that reason.

I'm off work dude seriously if you want to try on a 17" for looks and 285 for fitment you're welcome to.

    First time running Minden.
Scratched up three brand new wheels.

Wheel damage is pretty much a guarantee off road @Canadianguy91

    It’s just a look thing. Like I have 17’s now I guess I want a different look.

Hey I would but we both know the 285 isn’t even going to be close to fitting.

It will fit but you will not be able to turn lol

The 17s look good with some more rubber on them.

I find 18s with such little rubber will have a street truck look and just look goofy.

    Yep that was the 265 70 17.

Slipped off a rock and scrapped the whole side.
Other two were just driving over rocks and the side hit other rocks.

Benefit of the black I have it matches a sharpie paint marker lol so I just redo it as it wears off .Makes it barely noticeable and keeps the aluminum sealed from the elements

@Canadianguy91 just cause your current 17s don't look good to you doesn't mean other 17s won't. See what styles you like then see if the shop can test fit them for you.

But 17 is the biggest I'd go on a taco that might see off road .

All 4 of my rims now have rock rash.

So glad I bought them used for the cheap, cuz as long as I dont really fuck them up and just smear rash on them, IDGAF.

my girlfriend still finds its such a switch for me.
when I had my BBS on my jetta I'd likely have cried if they even got a scuff on them...but those wheels were worth close to $3000. And I got rid of them because it was just a matter of time before they got mangled being a 19" wheel so I went to an 18" and even still low profile but not as bad. Regardless I went from not even wanting someone to put a finger on my car to having my truck get scratched by tree branches, scratching wheels on rocks and risking damage lol.
