And yet again we see that in fact Sluggo is THE BEST and most reliable Tacoma ever.

 

Saw that on Instagram. Damn shame, only got to use it a few times from what I saw

 

I remember when he was having it built. Not sure how much actual use it got.

 

Didn't you manage to stall with an auto trans haha

Oh so do I. I saw videos of it out maybe 2-3 times

 

Looks like it’d be a fun little truck, be better if the bed was more useable.... for my needs anyway....




I sprayed all the rocks and dirt and straw and other mountain material out of the bed of my truck today -20 lbs of stuff back there.

 

I got maybe 100+ pounds of dried mud under my truck lol I need to put the garden sprinkler under it one of these days

 

Swapped out a CV axle with busted boots. Rotated the 33s cross ways (PITA). And swapped out the leaf spring hanger bolts to OEM from the metric stainless I stuck in there years ago. Not too surprisingly, some slop is now gone when transitioning from hammering on it to engine braking. Noticed all the tires have the beginning of some dry rot after only 8 years. Those KM2s just won’t wear down at all.

 

Finally got around to replacing my shifter seat bushings, needless to say it was much needed. This is what was left of the old bushing. Nylon bushing was shot too

Also does anyone have a part number for this piece?
It's the boot that keeps foreign objects from getting in the trans.


All in all this cost $28 and should be well worth it. Part numbers

33548-31010. It should be a pretty standard part as i believe they use it on many different vehicles. Currently in the middle of front brake pads rotors and a passenger side caliper and waiting on more parts to come in so I can finish. But just sitting in it and running through gears it feels great. Definently recommend doing this if your manual trans feels really sloppy when shifting or if you have a lot of left and right play when in gear. Took about an hour mostly because I had to pick out so many little bushing chunks.

 

And here's the last installment of our Memorial Day trip to Montana. Lot's of fun on the trails, some unexpected excitement on pavement, and we ended with an amazing campsite - 270+ degree views and great weather. Was an awesome trip with a great set of folks.

I didn't think changing out all of my A/C components was all that bad a job!! I had more trouble with the black plastic clamshell deal on the line going into the firewall. I messed with that thing for over an hour. Didn't want to break it, and didn't have the proper tool. "Be cool"!!!

 

Should be able to run it without it being bolted in place.

 

I replaced all mine with Marlin bushings and it was like night and day. They’re still tight about 6 years later. Can’t say that about everything else getting abused.

 

Did the same, even bought the same coil overs...Monroe?
