Much needed bath. Removed the factory antenna , installed shorter one from O'Reillys , same reception it seems . Thats the Ohio River in the background. Still a couple feet high

 

It is hard to see the antenna but it looks similar to one I had previously purchased. There was some loss of signal but what really bothered me was a whistling at highway speeds. I finally found a different antenna, about the same height that had the same type of wire wrapped around it as the OEM antenna. No wind noise now.

 

Do you have a link to the antenna you got from O'Reilly's? or a brand name or anything? I'd like to replace mine with a shorter one also.

 

I sure dont . I just stopped by on the way to work one day . They have a few options

 

Not to be a jerk, but next time hire an artist to do that for you, or drink less coffee.

 

It would look cleaner if I just cut it off with a jigsaw rather than hammering it back, but it accomplishes the same thing. And when painted black, you can't tell. That pic was from when I wire wheeled everything off so you can see every dent in it.

 

Damn, looks like I'll have to do the same thing then.

 

Oh yeah she's learning quite a bit lol! I've created a monster, after riding in, helping me wrech on and slowly build my yotas she's decided she wants one too.

 

Rear lines finally. Had them for too long and tired of worrying about ripping them out.

Good luck! Although I'd use pb blaster or liquid wrench instead. At least switch to that if you start meeting too much resistance. I rounded out one of mine because dammit that metal is soft.

Too many people believe half of the things that WD-40 say it can do. It's marketing is on par with Fram.

All WD-40 does well is displace water
