Yea... I put the ring in an envelope with a letter and gave it to her before I left.

No shame in that. Can’t say I would have done the same, but it’s a nice gesture.

Hopefully if she doesn't want it, she'll send it back. I had someone on the hook for 2k which is less than half of what I paid, but more than I'd get at a pawn shop.

Looks great Joe. What kind of MPGs you get with that when towing?

When I trailer my 4Runner I average 15-16. The total weight (truck and trailer) is about 6700 lbs. City is 27ish, Highway is 33ish.

That's fantastic! That's the twin turbo right? A buddy and I were just talking about them the other day.

Yes. Ford offers two motor sizes, 2.7 and 3.5, both twin turbo. The 3.5 is nuts. Tons of power and has almost twice the tow rating as the 2.7 BUT fuel economy suffers big time. The 2.7 has plenty of power for anything and everything I’ll ever use it for. The 2.7 is rated to tow 7600lbs which is a car on a trailer which is the heaviest I’ll tow typically. I did tow 12,400 lbs behind it once. Kept it below 40mph, I have a brake controller and trailer had brakes. It was all back roads for the 45 mile commute. It hated life from a stop but did it and once we were rolling it was fine. I’ll never do it again though. Only did it because I was in a bind.

Yea, sounds like the 2.7 is the sweet spot. Nice. And it looks good doing it too.

I’ve been extremely happy with it. It literally does everything I want it to do. And it’s roomy as shit! And very quiet and comfy. And even though it’s the small V6 it’ll roast tires with no effort. Sometimes almost too easy. It has no problem hitting 100mph and you can’t even tell you’re doing it.

Yea, it sounds like a really great truck for sure. And American trucks can usually be had for less than imports so there's that savings too, as long as you don't load up the bells and whistles.

I always do the STX package which eliminates chrome and gives you a lot of the electronics. I paid $32k for it. It is 2wd though. If I need 4wd, I take the 4Runner. I know it won’t hold its value like a Toyota but that’s not a big deal for me.
