I do not but my buddy has one of the Titan HD Diesels for work and he likes it. They use the shit out of their trucks and they seem to be holding up well. I think the Cummins in the Titan is similar to the Ram. I am personally a big fan of small diesels in vehicles, I am glad to see the US finally catching onto the rest of the world and starting to have more of them. A big benefit I see besides the fuel mileage is going to be longevity. Since you use your truck for work the fuel cost would definitely be beneficial but in comparing it to the F150 with either the 2.7 or 3.5 eco boost they may be more economical fuel cost wise since diesel is pretty expensive these days. But I think the diesel would do better at towing or hauling a heavy load just looking at their power curves.

At least the dude was cordial about it and pointed you in the right direction.

Yup, I thanked that guy for sure. Considered the f150 ecoboosts, but I like the longevity of the diesels. I know that cummins is a beast, too much motor for me, and cant get in one unless its a 2500 or bigger. (wont ever need) just educating myself for now, nothing planned at this point. potential tow rig, so i like the diesel for that. I have read people getting 25-30 mpg in the 3.0 ecodiesel. i drive pretty conservatively usually, so it may work. but, nothing in the immediate future for sure.

I don't have any first hand obviously but I like the options as far as high performance chips they offer for diesels and almost everyone at my work has one I think only one has an ecodiesel but no one ever drives them since we all drive company vans..

Yeah I hope that more of the 1/2 tons will actually get a diesel. With my old 7.3 ford with a tune I was able to get 22-23 mpgs unloaded in an 8000# truck so I would suspect the smaller diesels once you get rid of the choke points with DPFE, Cats, etc and a tune you could easily see mid 30s. The power curves are really where the diesels shine compared to the ecoboosts! Ford is just capitalizing on the many people who just buy a truck to buy a truck and may tow or haul once a yr. You could always get the cummins 2.8 or 4bt and swap it into the taco!

Got this yesterday as a thank you gift from @Blackout14 friend for housing his RTT for a while. Totally unnecessary but very much appreciated!

    Morning, folks!

New shocks installed. Truck rides much better now. Takeoff vibe is reduced, but still present. Gotta explore those shims and look into measuring the driveshaft angles at some point. Most importantly, I was able to take the 200+ lbs of bagged stones out of the bed and I'm not bouncing around everywhere.
