At the dealer last weekend to test drive OR and Pro. Only the Pro we drove had the bed step and it is functional for wife's height, so we liked it. We are going to buy the ORLB for other reasons, but would like to add the bed step option. However, every photo of a built ORLB on Toyota's site has a strange looking bed step.

Basically looking for any details on how the two differ: is the bed step as an option on an Off Road installed differently than on the Pro where it comes standard? Perhaps the photos just look strange on the OR builds (over the bumper) because it is computer generated and in reality it is under the bumper and the step looks and functions the same?

Welcome any insight and/or photos of your OR with Bed Step option in real life.

Bed step is not standard. It can be purchased separately if necessary for I think under $150 or it can be easily removed.

Honestly IMO it just looks kind of ugly and out of place since it hangs on the outside of the truck. But if you need it for functionality, your needs triumph over my opinions any day.

Awesome, that pic is exactly what I was hoping for - glad to see that it isn't the eyesore that the Toyota.com computer generated photo had it shown as... Looks similar to how the Pro version was installed. Thank you, Snickers!

My Pro came with the step and it looks exactly as pictured by snickers. Its a $300 option.

No idea where you got your prices from but this is straight from Toyota website.

Mounting holes line up for bolts in left rear bumper. And the step operation is biased that way as well. Maybe you can fabricate an adapter yourself.

Not that I have ever seen. Even on other manufacturer trucks, it's always been on the left side. Think cause of drivers side.

That photo from the OP is a bad photoshop job. The bed step for the SB and LB are the same. I paid $200 mine from Amazon.

indeed it is. I know when I mounted mine, when in the retracted position, it is hidden and tucked up really good.

mounts under the bumper. that's just bad photoshop in your picture. you can also get it much cheaper elsewhere. the one I put on my dad's F-350 was about $200 and the dealer wanted $500 for the exact same one (same manufacturer, not a knockoff)
