It’s either the lower APR or the $1,000 rebate. I got a better APR through my CU so I took the rebate.

You have to look at the MSRP so you can get an accurate comparison.

I believe it was about $40.8k or so. But that did not include cost of bed cover, either.

What are other dealerships giving you price wise? It makes it easier to find the exact truck you want then shop the dealerships to get the best deal. I always look at the MSRP because every dealership you go to you can compare apples to apples & see who’s giving you the most off of MSRP.

You didn't really say 2WD or 4WD... so

    7182 - LIMITED DOUBLE CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO..................... 37140 (MSRP) / 34407 (Invoice)
    7582 - LIMITED DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO..................... 40215 (MSRP) / 37254 (Invoice)
    TC - Tonneau Cover........................................................ 650(MSRP) / 579 (Invoice)

EDIT: Obviously, you have to add your area's Delivery/Prep cost.

Yep, but remember there is an incentive (which may be included in your offer) currently on the table ($1K-$1.5K depending on where) as well as volume incentives, holdbacks, etc. They aren't losing money on you, but you may be able to play up additional savings (act like it's before the incentive, have them throw in a bed liner at original price, etc.).

Dirty Llama, can you pass on your dealer and sales rep by PM? Looks like your truck is the exact one we are calling around pricing, and I'd buy it today at that price! Well done.

Just to make sure I'm clear, you were $3,900 off MSRP and then applied the $1,000 rebate from Toyota to make it $4,900 off MSRP + TTL and no other surprise dealer fees? Right now my best quote has a dealer fee ($200ish) after the offer. Counting the fee into the amount off the MSRP, I'm at $2,966 off + TTL, so still shopping around.

I got a 2018 SR Double Cab and paid $21,100. I feel like I stole it.

2.29% interest rate from my credit union to boot.

I've got a salesman telling me that his admin fee ($925) on TOP of the Toyota Manuf. Delv. Proc. & Handling Fee of $995 (for SET, I'm seeing $1045 elsewhere) is mandatory for all Toyota dealers. Is this the mysterious Ad fee that is only charged in places like SET? He is saying all my offers will ultimately have it - but my other two top offers don't have it yet. (Nor his $787 doc fee and $299 nitrogen we don't need/ want.) He is also the first to charge us for gas... I've responded but just want to make sure I have my facts straight:

    1. That $925 won't be mandatory across all USA dealers on top of the normal Manuf. Delv. Proc. & Handling Fee, correct?
    2. Doc fees vary per dealer, right? (I've gotten quoted anywhere from $150 to this $787)
    3. Does every dealer charge for gas? This is the first time I've seen it on a sales sheet. Happens to be from our local dealer who will be servicing the truck, so seems crazy to pay $18 for gas when I'm driving a 40k truck off the lot.
    4. He's telling me the $299 Lifetime Nitrogen is mandatory. First time I've seen it, so this is probably just a dealer mandate?

(Please excuse my newbie questions, this post is Mrs. Truman - we share this account. I love our Tacoma, and am handling the spreadsheet, but I'm not so knowledgable about car-buying minutia. Thanks for any insight.)

Get a second quote, see if it includes an admin fee.

I got a quote last week that included a "green car package" w/ nitrogen and other crap. Told the salseman straight off the bat that I didn't want it and wouldn't be paying it, he immediately told me that it would be included at no charge. Instant $995 discount just by saying no thanks!

Still didn't like his starting price, though.

Picked up my 18 DCSB TRD OffRoad 6MT today. It has premium, tech, mud flaps, bed extender, and all weather mats and door sills. MSRP was $38,827. I payed $34,986. I feel like I got a decent deal.
