Apparently my phone doesnt get messages anymore. I wanted to wait for the new note 9 to come out but it is not looking like it's going to be that great anyway. I'm also considering switching tover an iPhone and an ipad because the android tablets just aren't optimized like apples are. The rendering may or may not work on the android tablets as I have begun to experience while using back country navigator and avenza.

Never thought I'd say that but the android offerings are not so hot IMHO. They have regressed to the point that I'm not sure the value is there for me anymore. I don't root and install custom roms anymore. I really want device that works well instead of all the ability to customize and not be restricted. Maybe I'm getting old but the app's need to be optimized for the device and apple does that better. Is there something I'm missing? Even the Samsung tablets at best buy don't work.... I'm kinda sad as I have had android since the G1 Google slider released on tomobile. I've never had apple but I'm about to jump I think

Huh odd. I have no issues with my S8 phone or my Tab2S 8 inch. Works just fine with Gaia.

I have been a iPhone person since the 4s I have a 6s work phone now and Apple just isn't the same as it used to be. I loved my 5s. I am considering going with a stupid flip phone just to save on costs while we travel the country.

I just got Apple to give me a brand new iPhone 5 since the battery swelled on the ancient one I had around still. I had to press it back into service since the 5s I was using and liked a lot had the connector break and that was going to be real money to replace/repair since that isn't a warranty question. If pressed I'd get the SE now (I like the form factor of this size). My wife gets Android phones and she's been dealing with one (a Motorola Droid Maxx) that won't do texts anymore, too. Verizon as well. Interesting.

I've never really cared much for android phones until I picked up a Google Pixel XL 2. I actually really enjoyed that phone and overall seemed as well optimized as any apple phone I've ever had. I had it for 5 months but went back to Apple (Iphone X) just because, as a family, we are pretty deep into the Apple eco-system.

Edit: I've never been a fan of any Android tablet I've tried.

My note 4 and Samsung tab both shit the bed in the maze in April. Neither one could pull accurate gps or render downloaded maps of the area correctly

I really want a removable battery, micro SD storage upgrade options, infrared beam, stylus, and 3.5 jack. None of that is available hardly
Yeah the tablets arent great but I've just recently run into issues. They don't age well. I've always been very positive on android/Google but recently nothing seem's to be working well for me
