Actually we opened orders for software, and will have tactrix drop ship for us. If you don't mind waiting until Monday we can have them ship you the cable

 

Flashed mine to 1.04 87 last night and took it for a quick spin....So far I love it! Can’t wait to get some more time on the truck and install the TCU file when it comes available.

You may be waiting a long time. I believe Mat has already stated way back in one of the threads that he's not planning on doing a handheld for the 3rd gen (if that's what you're holding out for).

Q: I have a few other Tacoma owners in the neighborhood that might want a tune but don't see the need to buy the full kit since I have one.

Is there a process for them to buy the tune only and use my connector on my PC?
Is it better to just loan them my connector and use their own PC because of the whole serial number email back and forth stuff?

 

They can order our software only option (available now) and then use your connector

Been waiting to order a kit for a while now, but not really clear on what is needed from Tactrix if I order the software only option from you. Is it just the Openport 2.0 adapter at https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?p...m_virtuemart&Itemid=53&redirected=1&Itemid=53 ?

 

Yes, that is all you need. The Tactrix adapter also come with USB cable so you are good to go. Obviously you'll need your own laptop and then Mats software.

 

Yea you need that adapter. Shame he can't make it work with a SCT OBC cable.

 

I am in the same situation. Worked fine when I initially pulled the info to send into the registry file, but when I went to load the tune..... nothing. At the time I thought it was something I did. I had tried to load a copy of Techstream and ended up having to tweak some settings to make the cable work. I later decided to put everything on a new notebook and see if just the identify would work (like I was doing it on a new truck). Same thing. Tested the OBD with another standalone reader and it works fine. I am wondering if there was a bad shipment of cables?

Trying to be patient as I know Mat is busy. Interesting to know that others are having the same problem.

Probably at the bottom of the list as I wasn't getting replies from emailing Mat and reloaded the software thinking (hoping) that reloading it on the same PC wouldn't change the generated security keys. Note to all the kiddo's - it does.

So close, but so far. Had the tune, but couldn't load it and will now have to start all over...
