Was it well maintained at a dealer (service records)? 70k a year is like living on the road.

Doesn't show what business. I could give the dealership a call and ask if they know. You think a oil field truck is worth it? They are asking $24k

unless you're buying from a private party it's fair to assume any full-size truck is coming off the oil field or a rotation as another work vehicle.

It is what is is, some corporate vehicles get treated well, some get treated like shit. Some private party vehicles get treated well, some get beat to shit. It's all a gamble anyways.

Not really unless it was an office guys truck. IE not overloaded with shit and going 90 down beat up lease roads.

Check the bed, is it dented to high hell or look like it was assaulted by idiots with hammers?

Or check the roof/in the dash for old CB. A lot of those work trucks have CB radios that get taken out. Same with ware spots on the bed from a tool box

Just a reminder for those going camping... Get used to it, burn bans aren't going away.

See what happened was we had to spend millions of dollars putting out natural wildfires because Muffy and Buffy built a cute little $10million log cabin in the woods that they stay in 4 nights out of the year and they just couldn't bear to have it burn down. After years of this, the beetles started to thrive and kill all the trees we so valiantly protected. Now the whole damn thing is a giant deadwood tinderbox.
If you have a campfire, Muffy and Buffy might have to spend an extra 4 nights a year at Hilton Head or something.

Sure.. But a similar argument can be made for staying the trail, not filling oceans and waterways with septic and radioactive materials, etc. At the rate humans are de-evolving, we won't be around much longer so we could just nix all that as well. But I'd rather have it nice until we kill ourselves off. :D

It was in May, but I'm REALLY hoping one person who got a ticket was the dumb twat with a few friends who started a fire, left, returned from a hike and the excuse given was "park county has a fire ban, but I don't live in park county"

No, you people scared me with it being a oilfield truck. I scared myself with it only having 4 service records over 142k miles. I might stop by the Chevy dealership tomorrow and look at that 2007 Chevy 2500 diesel I looked at over Memorial Day weekend.

True, but if it looks clean AF otherwise, then it may have just been a lot of cross country highway mileage.

If it was hauling tools and dirty workers up and down rough dirt roads non-stop, there would surely be other signs.

Carfax is an ok start, but just because someone can't or doesn't want to go to the dealer every time doesn't mean it wasn't maintained.

Although not being able to see it in person sucks.

If it was in Denver I would be looking at it tomorrow but it's 6 1/2hrs away. Got too much stuff to do before the house closes on the 26th. If it's still there the week after next I might make the drive to look at it.
