If it were a standard bumper he'd be fine but since it's a custom bumper yeah it won't fit. Also it was 98-00 that had different frame horns ask me how I know

Thanks for the input guys. Appreciate it. I went ahead and bought a new one from NAPA for $72.00 with lifetime warranty. Looks like I will be doing that tomorrow morning.

I've done a cv axle on a Hyundai Santa Fe, but not on a Tacoma. Anything "special" I need to know about and/or have when replacing the cv axle?

I bought a Relentless Fab bumper, but it wouldn’t mount to the frame until I cut and welded custom end caps to the frame horns.

If you have a slide hammer it'll make quick work of taking the damn thing out. If not just use a pry bar and a hammer and it'll come out with some good swings

Like I posted earlier. Point the c-clip down and add grease to the inboard shaft and it'll go in easier. Put wood on the outboard shaft and smack it with a hammer. Keep it as level as possible and it'll go in.

    I have all three.

When working on cars, my cursing is on point. This is based on the input I get from the wife and kids. I also think my neighbor (He owns a Tacoma as well.) and I are in competition on who swears the best when wrenching.

Thanks for the tips. I do not have a slide hammer, but I do have a pry bar and a couple of sledge hammers.

As for the c-clip...open end facing down?

Here you go. Just ignore the part about re-booting.

It's the opposite. Custom bumper for a 98 needs to fit on an 01-04. So you'd have to rig up some frame extensions. So it's possible but up to OP

This little thing, make sure the open end is pointed down. Throw some grease in there to keep it from moving as you put the shaft in (giggity)

35mm axle nut socket, pry bar and a big fucking hammer to knock it in place (don't go crazy but it usually takes a good whack). Oh and a torque wrench, make sure you torque it to spec...I forget what it is but it should be in the video. Same with the LBJ bolts, I believe those go to 60 ft lbs with blue threadlocker.
