Had it happen on a motorcycle once. Same situation; sitting in traffic and caught her in my rearview mirror, but she was past me before I could do anything about it. Would have been bad.

Next time that it happened (again on the bike) I actually saw her coming and was able to pop the clutch, blip the throttle, and pull 3 cars up on the shoulder in case she didn't stop. She did, but it was where I'd been sitting on my bike.


Never in a car/truck, though.

Honestly the #1 reason why I haven't ridden my bike much in the last year, and has me contemplating selling it.

 

couple times, but at least in one of those instances i had room to move up slowly and give them some space to stop.

I always keep it in gear when I'm at a light or in traffic and no one is behind me in case I have dodge someone not paying attention behind me.

 

Same. Always figured it was more than worth the strain on my clutch hand, lol. In that second instance, I was correct. First instance, would not have made a difference since I didn't have time to react anyway.

Edit- I was glad that I was on my Suzuki, instead of the 250. The Zuke had a lot more low-end grunt for a quick getaway than the Ninja did.

 

The strain on my clutch hand made me feel what I believe Michael J Fox feels on a daily basis. I have a Sporty 883 that vibrates like no other when idling.

 

Haha, same here. I've always had stiffer springs in my clutches and shorty levers.

 

I had the advantage of living in an area that doesn't have that many stop lights, lol. The route that I usually took when I rode the bike into the office only had 3 or 4, I think.

 

Truck actually did pretty well, the long steep hills up to Wilmington VT via Bennington did push things to it's limit. I had it in 2nd-3rd and if i didn't absolutely floor it I would quickly loose speed and momentum. On the flats and slight hills it did great, and it also handled well down the big hills I had to drive up. So overall, better than I expected, but it sure isn't a full-size.

There is a huge difference towing with the Taco and towing with the f-150. This little trip drove that home.

Always drive ETC no matter what I am doing, going up the big hills 3rd barely managed.

I have a 4 month old truck where the leafs failed two months ago. It's bullshit and I have no idea why people defend Toyota using these pieces of shit. If I complain around here I'm just some turd gen loser who just doesn't get it. So I just ride around with inverted springs, squeaky as shit because I'm not ready for a new suspension yet.

Well, welcome back!

 

Dealer that I bought my F-150 from had my nearly 150,000 mile 7 year old Tacoma listed for 16 and change. Thought that was nuts. Don't know what it sold for, but I ran the VIN and it's registered in the Adirondacks now, so someone drove 2 hours to get it.

 

I saw a similar thing today on 495s around 9am...Toyota camry in front of me...I see over her that the traffic is quickly stopping but I'm not seeing her brake lights...I'm slowing down based on the car in front of her slowing and she is stills screwing down the road. I can see her visor is down and mirror is visible and I can see in her rear view mirror that she is looking down...make up? Texting? She looks up and locks them....Her car starts getting squirrely and juuuuust stops before hitting the car in front of her. Traffic starts back up and she gets to the middle lane...I look over and she's back in her lap again allfuckingready on her phone again...

I have a dash cam...I should out her.
