Interested in this tent but confused on buy? Is this still happening? Can a tent be ordered on a regular basis? Sorry tried to read a few pages but could get through all 65.

I also have the Thule racks that someone was asking about above.

it's changed from a "group buy" setting to an ongoing setting. Orders placed online will create the que and as containers fill, our orders will. Hopefully speeding up the process for everyone since it can now be seen across multiple platforms.

In short yes. Tents can be ordered on a regular basis and in every way is the same as before but orders are placed through the website using the coupon code for discount. The OP covers it a little in the beginning, this weekend I am going to revamp the entire OP to make everything clear

Hey babe, I got you a new 4Runner.

Oh, and a LandCruiser and a camper trailer for me too, but ignore that.

    Sorry

The hard shell can be installed on a vehicle, deployed and then put away before a soft one gets setup. Yes I've tried. :D and it was a tepui.

Yea, they did the 20% off a few weeks back with free in store so I bit the bullet. I was pretty much set on getting the smittybilt one but I felt that the discount made it worth upgrading to the Tepui.

Haha I'm, 6-1 so I should be good. I have some 8in bars coming in and eventually a rack to go over the ST.

Shiiiiiiit I like the way you think.

....@Bennett707, the next time you do something stupid and need to apologize to me, feel free to buy me that LandCruiser. Or a 4Runner. I'm cool if you get the tent or the trailer.

Well we will see how weird it looks on my DCLB with an Alu Cab Explorer Canopy pretty soon!! Haha, I wanted the extra interior space, didn't realize how thin the Explorer would be...... Oh well...

Pretty much, but I will agree that a soft shell makes sense in certain situations. If you have more than 2-3 people, and only camp in one place vs camping in a new place every night. For most a hardshell is a better option

    Hahaha exactly

While im not short, climbing around my truck on the sliders, tires, on the swing out, slipping off the truck, forgetting a velcro strap, walking back around to get said forgotten strap, noticing that the tent is compressed enough to strap the other side, climb on top of the tent so my weight forces it to compress, climb down, start putting the travel cover on, notice the ladder isn't buckled down, say fuck it its not going anywhere, get the zipper caught in the tent fabric, finally zipped up, walk around to throw the last buckles over, back around to the other side to only find out only one strap made the free throw, back around, kobe, last two straps buckled, Now you are completely covered in dust from climbing all over your truck. Done

All of that is why I made the switch and I didn't even cover stuffing the fabric into the tent before you can actually start doing any of that. But I understand that some people want or need a soft-shell so thats the only reason I ordered one for testing.

I mean, I think she’s getting the good end of the deal here. A LC would go a looooong way to me forgiving all the truck mod purchases.

Oh man, this is probably the reason I’m most excited for a new tent. We’ve got a routine down where I climb on the sliders, jump on the tire, walk along the bumpers, hold onto the roof rack to make sure I don’t fall, wipe all the dust off the side of the 4Runner and onto my front... and meanwhile @Bennett707 is already done with his side and laughing at me.
