Can the plug in the bed handle a computer?
Don't want to fry the computer.

If so, do I have to turn the voltage switch on the driver's side to a particular setting?

Obviously, I have no idea what I am talking about.

    Thanks.

Im assuming this scenario is for powering up some ancient Windows XP laptop that has a dead battery so you can mess around with Techstream? The problem is that the 120v outlet in the bed is only powered on when the truck is on correct? And techstream needs truck in the "ignition on" mode to work properly? idk how much drain a laptop would be on the truck battery.

Most laptop chargers are in the 60-80 watt range.

The nothing-special hairdryer in my bathroom requires 1875W. The laptop charger in front of me requires 60W. Back to school for you!

Sorry I don't use a hairdryer or have one. What's a microwave pull?

The truck does not have to be on based on YouTube videos I've seen, but only the 120V works with the components engaged ( pushing the start button to turn on electrical components, but not running the engine ). If you want the 400V on, the engine has to be running and the drive side switch flipped for the 400v. I would jump on YouTube and search for Tacoma bed outlet testing. There's one with a guy that tests all kinds of household and garage type items, even a toaster.

Doesn't surprise me. If it weren't for Federal and State Electrical Safety Standards, I would have been electrocuted years ago. lol
