Call and order that up now, worth the wait and worth getting used to, although I never had an issue with that. My only "bitch" is some times I don't get the RPMS up enough gaining into second and it lugs. This truck likes 3k plus RPMS.

similar over here. no big deal you get used to it. if i had size 14's and needed big steel work boots then i may be more of a challenge. up to size 13 i'd say no problem.

I waited 4 months to get the manual. Worth it. I hope to never have to drive an automatic again. I'm very uncomfortable with the disengaged feeling of an auto.

Not sure. Ive snagged my toes coming off clutch and in rest position, like off to left side dead pedel area. Depends on your driving style I guess.

There's always the SR option, but you'll likely have to expand the search more than 80 miles for a 16 or 17.

The 4 banger manual was tough to find.

I've thought about finding another, coating it with cosomline, crating it up, and hiding it in a warehouse somewhere like where it put the Lost Ark... and then I'll try to find it in 2035... possible book rights... maybe even a movie... "Raiders of the Lost Tacoma".

Damn, why didn't I think of that?

I'm 12.5 and I've always used more toe, I just noticed my foot slid up much farther than I would normally put it when I was on and off the clutch in a little traffic during the test drive. Had it not kept sliding up I probably never would have touched that bracket, but instead I did probably 4 times in 10 minutes

Thanks! That stuff looks like it might help. I could only imagine what the sales guy would think if I wanted to put a piece of that on before taking it for another test drive

I don't like the feeling at all either, which is one of the reasons why a Tacoma is so high up on my list, but I would be even more uncomfortable if I couldn't drive it without catching on something all the time

I've even looked for an SR just to test drive with a manual, but didn't see any near me. I definitely want the V6 and 4x4 (must) though

Keep up the hunt dood, but pounce on a MT if you find one to your liking. They are not increasing production on them moving forward to be certain.

And it's a blast to drive

From the sounds of this thread, I guess I should be glad my dealer had 2 standards on the lot when I was shopping. At the time I thought it was crazy that that was all they had, considering that 5-6 years earlier they had about a 50/50 mix of standards and automatics.

You are very lucky. I bought mine without ever test driving or seeing a Tacoma manual. The closest manual to Oklahoma at the time was in Nashville Tennesee which is a long way.
It was interesting driving home from the drop off location with no place to practice first.

Had that one not been there at another dealership, I probably would have just placed the order for the manual and not thought twice about it without a test drive

The only manual offered now is the TRD line, no more 4 cylinder manuals being made.

Yep... I found that out when I started looking to replace my 2000... 2017 is the last of the manual 4 bangers... it's a shame.

I had been patiently looking off and on for the past 6 months and when a 2016 with 2201 miles came up this past April I jumped... it was 4 hours away and I went to look at it the next day and drove it home... I've never been a huge fan of silver, but I am now... :rofl:actually this silver a little darker than the online pics portrayed and it's growing on me.

It was an SR 4x4, so it didn't have intermittent wipers and cruise control, but that was only $230 for the OEM parts and a shade tree away... I'm quite happy with it. :)
