Started 2008 Tacoma Build - First timer - Mistakes were made - All good in the end

I started my Tacoma Build last week end! and I wanted to share the results. The TW fourms were an invaluable resource when choosing my parts for the build. I am trying to build my truck on an Budget. If I can buy it on Craigslist that is what I will do. However I did not want to cheap out on the suspension. I choose the OME lift because of all the good review on the forums.

2008 Access cab - TRD

FRONT:
OME 3" Liftkit purchased through ToyTech (Used their coupon code on TW. Worked great.)
Coilovers w/ 884
Freedom Offroad UCA

REAR:
OME Rear Struts + AAL

STOCK HEIGHT = 20"

LIFTED =23 1/2"
(a little bit over 3" before it settles)

Removing the Bolt for the UCA was by far the biggest pain in the ass. Took an hour to get it out. Yes this is my first time doing any of this stuff. But the Videos on line made it look super easy. Just bend a bit of metal they said. The bolt will slid right out they said. Bull Shit! We had to insert screw drivers into the joint and bang the bolt out from the rear!

The second hardest part was getting the Lower control arm to get low enough to install the bolt into the bottom of the Coilover. This 3" lift coil over definitely did not want to fit where the stock suspension was.

Freedom Off Road UCAs doing their thing. I have nothing to compare them too other than stock. So far they are great. I have not been off road with them yet. I will post review when i do go. I choose them because they were the cheapest.


Honesty I took me and a friend about 7 hours just to install the Coilovers and the UCA. This was way longer then I expected. So much so that we did not get to do the rear lift. I have been driving around with a Baja truck all week. We will get it finished this week end. If I get time I will install new Wheels and tires also.
