I live in So Cal and its hard to come by a clean, low miles. stock, manual, 4x4, TRD, ext cab truck.. I literally searched 5+ months. Whenever I did find one there were asking $15,000+ or they were sold the same day the add was placed. These trucks hold there value EXTREMELY well.. I was seriously thinking about getting a 2010 Tacoma but they are just to big for me. Some of the trails I go on are extremely tight and narrow so I do not like the fact that the new Tacoma is much bigger now. Plus I do not like the electronic transfer case dial and all the TSB's/recalls.

Details about my purchase.. 2002 Toyota Tacoma, Manual, TRD Package, new yokohama tires, bed liner, oem tow hitch, extremely clean in/out, 1 previous owner, and 70k miles. I already did a bunch of maintenance. Changed the fuel filter, greased all the drive shaft zerks, bled the brakes with new synthetic fluid, changed the oil to mobil 1 synthetic, and changed the spark plugs to oem denso ones. In a week or so I will change the the fluid in the diffs, transfer case, and tranny with Amsoil Synthetic fluid.

I am looking for oem floor mats. Does Toyota make OEM all weather (rubber) mats for the 1st gen?

I'm glad to be a official owner now. Next on the list is finding a 2009 Toyota 4runner TE for the wife. :D

Very, very nice! Your patience was rewarded. Life is just beginning at 70K for a 1st gen. :D

I saw an add for one just like that this weekend. It was going for 18k at one of the dealers. Truly amazing what these trucks are going for.

Nice find. I know what it's like looking for one. I sold my 00 PreRunner to the first guy that looked at it, then it took me about 7 months to find my 04 D-Cab.

Also I might add that personally Ive used Amsoil Severe Gear Gear oil 75W90 in my truck Diffs and Transfer twice and have since used Mobil1 Synthetic 75w90 at a cheaper cost than Amsoil and bought locally, its as good or better in my opinion. Also as far as mats for the floor nothing can beat Husky Brand mats the best out there for a GEN1

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. ;)

Thanks I will look into this.

Does anyone know if Toyota Supplies OEM all weather mats? I know they have the carpeted ones. But I might go with all weather ones with the truck.

Yes I might get the Mobil 1 Gear oil for the diffs and transfer case and get the Amsoil for the Manual Tranny. I think the manual trannys call for GL-4 rated oil, all I see is GL-5 from Mobil 1.
