Fair warning: DO NOT use dorman 7443w-hp led bulbs for brake lights. Sometimes no issue, 3 times I've lost my accelerator and gotten the "brake and accelerator depressed simultaneously" message.

Oh and they are no brighter than stock. Swapped back to regular bulbs and no more issue

Do really like the 7443a-hp for front turn signals though and the dorman load resistors fixed hyperflash.

Installed mine tonight. Replaced my Supernovas. I damaged one during install and was not really impressed overall...so I was happy to replace them with these. Nice color temp on these. They go very well with the Morimoto XB fogs and they appear to light up a bit more than the novas.

I had a spare few minutes today, finally. I tested the Hikaris against a basic H9 (glare capped) in the fogs with the headlights disabled:

LED left fog, H9 halogen right fog
    qn36lwMvTYyFKrxhfwekmg.jpg

Like I have mentioned countless times in this thread, the LEDs lose the cut off and cause glare. There is a glare ring around the LEDs, the picture does not do justice to the extent. Looking at this picture it should be clear that drop in LEDs do not belong in the fogs. At this distance the hood should obstruct the fog cut off, but the LEDs bleed over beyond the cut off.

But surely that means the LEDs are brighter?

    Not against an H9.
    fullsizeoutput_c5f.jpg

Using a Asensetek Lighting Navigator meter (same brand as Toyota) an H9 is 30% brighter than the Hikari LEDs. A distributed beam pattern like a fog is going to be kinder to the LED output readings than a headlight that concentrates the beam into a hotspot, meaning the H9s should further outperform the Hikaris in a headlight assembly comparison. I'll test that later as time allows. The Hikaris do rate brighter than a stock H11 bulb in the fogs, but distributed light (fogs) vs focused light (headlights) is very different.

A standard H9 is ~$20/pair vs the $70+ for the Hikari LEDs. I run special glare capped H9s to simulate an H11 from Daniel Stern, which reduces glare for use in a reflector housing.

Edit: Dont be mislead by a phone screen shot for the caliber of equipment. This is not a 'free app from the app store'. This is Pro grade equipment and the module to export this data costs an additional $800.00 alone, on top of nearly the same price for intorductory test instruments. Screen shots are my way of saving $800 for the export upgrade while still being able to share the data.

Sorry for the newbie questions guys.

I have 2018 TRD Pro and just ordered the H11 lights from xenondepot for high and low beams but what do you guys recommend for the other lights now?

    Brake lights
    Turn Signal lights
    License plate lights

Thank You in advance for your help as the links on page 1 don’t seem to be relevant anymore on Amazon when I tried purchasing.

I'm using these in my reverse but I believe there is a better choice already.

And I'm running these in my license plate lights

One of the best things (from a technology perspective and not financial) about all this is that this tech is constantly evolving. What you buy today will almost likely be better than what I bought yesterday.

I think that single sided design is better than the double sided festoon bulbs I posted up back in the day. It just makes more sense.

    Nice @rickm

    @PeterVR @RobP62

For interior I bought this kit for my father in laws and my taco, takes the guess work out of how many of whstvtype I needed, it’s a full kit and comes with license plate, vanity, etc:

    http://www.ledpartsnow.com/16uptacoma/

For reverse, the ibright star rob mentioned above:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RFY776/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xiehBbNE3BKWC

    Front blinkers:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074YVZD4X?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Did not touch brake lights because once you change front blinkers, if you touch rear brakes lights, you’ll need resistors to prevent hyperblinking on front blinkers, I got lazy to deal with it.

So two pairs of these for the low and high beam correct? And consensus is auxbeam for fogs?

Here are some pictures of that exact setup on my ride for color temp reference if you were worried about color mismatch, don’t. B31AB6D0-FEB5-4AFA-9271-219B2955142F.jpg34B3EE01-2DDA-4A14-8ED1-B3900063642D.jpgFA57FE83-C396-47BD-BE87-BC8162C8C022.jpg26D5A670-FAFE-4F28-BF8E-60562BAE0BAF.jpg
