More errors last night and this morning.

Guess I'll unmount it this weekend and check it out.

That’s a bummer man. Are you going to purchase the garnish?

Installed. Drove about 30 miles. Error came on. Woke up this morning, no error message. Weird. Drove 20 miles. Nothing.

I really don't want to, hopefully there is just an obstruction or something on the sensor. Might try to find some thinner plastic and see if that works. Hopefully it's not a calibration issue with the height, cause then i'd need a lift kit and some tires to correct the 3 inch difference

Sounds just like my issues. Drove it some yesterday after the first time and no errors then this morning after about 30 miles it came back on, in almost the exact same spot.

So far, a couple of hundred miles with no error. The plastic I used was from an extra OCD Center Console organizer that I had so it was pretty thin. I do have an official 2018 Garnish waiting for me to pick up at the dealer just in case I start getting errors. I like the look of the ghetto garnish better.

I think I may have found the problem.....

Maybe all the errors are on Tacomas that are automatic transmissions and the ones that work perfectly are manual transmissions.....SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

Lol just trying to cause more hate and discontent. I hope you guys get the errors fixed.......

I don’t have a Manual Tranny and I have received no errors. I do have a 3inch lift though.

Not completely exposed. Some of the grille holes are filled in. I can only see a small piece of the sensor through one of the holes.

Drove in heavy traffic today and the PCS came on in what I thought were appropriate moments when someone cut in front of me. I'm glad to see it's working even with the ghetto garnish.

Not sure why you guys are risking messing up this safety feature or breaking the sensor just to say $50 for the garnish

I Didn’t do it to save $50. To be honest, the sensor should work without the piece of plastic or garnish. That’s literally what you get when you buy the garnish, plastic. The plastic is there to prevent debris (i.e. snow, rain, dirt...) from touching the sensor. For those who are getting errors, I feel there was a mounting issue caused by them or they have debris on the sensor. I personally don’t have a need for the sensor as I am alert when I drive and rather control speed on my own. I’ve driven now a full week (about 500 Miles) without errors just to test it out and I’m satisfied with my set up.

But that’s just me. To each his own.

To confirm, you drove and the sensor worked well, no issues?

Yes. I tested the adaptive cruise control after I installed it. However, on this truck, even before I put the grill on, the PCS has never gone off. Yesterday, when I was driving in stop and go traffic, it did go off a couple of times appropriately when the system thought I was going to rear end someone. One day, just for kicks, I'll test it on a big piece of cardboard with tin foil on it to try to see the parameters where the PCS will go off and self brake.

BTW- I do have the 2018 garnish but decided not to install it. It's still sitting in the packaging in the garage. I like the look of the piece of black plastic better as it's not shiny. I personally think that the shiny finish on the 2018 garnish serves as a way for moisture to more easily slide off the front of the module to prevent errors.

Can’t speak for the others and I haven’t bothered to learn all the acronyms for these features but... my Adaptive cruise control works perfectly as does my lane departure warning.

Well just as an update, my truck now has 10k on it. It's also auto automatic. And I have received Zero issues besides when it was winter, and there was heavy snow building up on the grille. No garnish or plastic mod, sensor mounted directly to the OEM grille

Do we know whether or not snow build up will cause it to deactivate even with the garnish?

I am also running it with no garnish and it deactivated twice the day I installed and then ran perfectly since then. Except two times the system deactivated during extreme downpour. When the rain letup I went into settings and turned system off then back on and it worked perfectly. I use cruise control a lot and drive all day for work. About 3k mikes with my pro grille.
