The new ranger is pretty tight, so is the colorado
I would take either one over a 3rd jen

Are 3rd gens really that bad? Or do people just hear all the negative and get a bad taste in their mouth before they even try it?

Idk how it rides, i just not a big fan of how it looks.
Maybe because I think toyota and I picture small Japanese trucks and the new 3rd jen just looks to american.

I do like the pro model but in that price range I rather just have a 4 runner

Ahh see, I like the way they look, and I wouldn’t think theyd ride much different than a 2nd gen.

But the way the skinny pedal feels is what gets most people, but most seem to get over that after they spend some time in it?

I mean im sure anything you drive you will get use to in time. If i was given a 3rd gen I would say no. I would take it and probably daily drive it. But if i had to buy a new truck then the ZR2 Colorado would probably be what i look at first

That's really it sbiggest fault. The manual is probably better but I'd imagine you have to keep the RPMs up for it to feel peppy. I drive slow vehicles, I'm used to slow vehicles, the 3rd gen with the auto felt slow in a very bad way, and the auto was unsure, just hunting gears to try and make up for the poor engine choice

I think toyota just to throw the v8 from the tundra into the tacoma and call it a day.
Im sure a v8 tacoma would become pretty popular

It wouldn't sell, 13mpg in a midsize truck that still has a low tow rating due to size and braking. It would have to be a special edition or something like the GMC typhoon to have any traction in the market at all

The Ecoboost v6 would be more than enough, that thing rips if it doesn't have to tow a load, in a lighter truck thab the f150 it would be pretty dangerously fast I'd think.

I heard it’s getting the 5.0 and then possibly a eco boost as well

Nah the Coyote motor is good for a 5L, it's just not terribly competitive against the LS offerings or Chrysler's Hemi engines

I don’t know a lot about anything automotive, I can tell people SOME shIt about our trucks but that’s about where it ends.

I’d like to try some other mud sized trucks sometime, just for cause.

I like the dodge dakota, though there is almost no after market support for it for lifting. But stock configuration with a v8 is pretty nice. Imo, i grew up in one so its kinda grown on me

Just parked next to a perfect late model T-100, paint is nice still, has a tiny lift, 3.4, 4WD

Don't see a lot of them anymore
