I know not everyone is the same. Nothing I could do even if they were.
As an Oregon native it's just kind of a long standing thing.
I grew up closer to pdx so the Californians moving up has been a thing since the 80s.
    Is what it is.
Yeah we got Joe's, but the parking lot sucks and wasn't built for that much traffic lol.
Housing is especially hard rite now, but most cali people are used to that.

with the price of homes in Bend it's making it difficult for me to pull the trigger on moving to Bend area anyways should I get the job. I'm looking in La Pine which is still kinda expensive. At least you can be happy that the CA people are making the value of your homes sky rocket

Honestly with no disrespect because I think you guys have a beautiful state...I'm worried Or is a little bit too much like "California" for my liking...I don't do well with tree huggers, complainers, and crowds. Bend would be the one spot and only spot in Or I would consider though

 at this conversation. You have the right intentions Dave. I'd rather have people like you move here than the So Calers you speak of or Bay Area bros.

    You people are cruel.
There aren't anymore tree huggers. Only mellinials (I think parents forgot how to discipline and spank) and hipsters. Luckily, most of them live in PDX.

Those are fair assessments. I wouldn't call Bendites tree huggers per se, just like minded people who enjoy nature and don't want to see the environment destroyed. Like it should be.

    In all seriousness.
The inner part of bend can be pretty congested so I'd consider your work/living location in association with that.
And not only housing cost but even getting anything at any price.
Other then that it's all good.

My so to speak job would be on the east side by that Drake Park place. I looked at aerial photos and saw dudes in kayaks via google earth like a block from that school I interviewed for...hope they don't mind an SUP or a fishing pole there...that's what I would want to do when school gets out

Drake park is right down town, not quite east side. You might have to SUP to work to avoid traffic.

Yeah I hear the housing is crazy and goes fast...Bend isn't really an option because we want AT LEAST 1/2 acre plus...moving from so cal to be in a residential neighborhood in Bend would be defeating the purpose...like I said, I don't like people, just some funny Tacoma dudes looking for a good time

Sup all over, mite be to crowded for fishing in summer but idk.

From south Bend "deschutes river woods" to La Pine gain more elevation then you would think it holds quite a bit more snow in winter and you should expect about 3 months of hardpack snow on 97 and should be factored in.
Also if economy goes down again anything you buy down there will drop more.
