Has anyone had the hubcaps fall off their steel wheels? I took my truck in for 15k service and within 200 miles of leaving the dealership both front caps fell off. I was able to recover one from the road to work but it was smashed up. Now this morning i walk out to my truck and the left rear is gone. Im thinking the technician didn’t fully seat them after rotating my tires and doing the alignment check. I’ve contacted the dealer multiple times with no response... I’ll use it as an excuse to get new wheels!

 

I've found on mine that the cap needs to be manual held into the rim upon installation and even then checked after snugging up the lug nuts since they sometimes back off a little. But once started they can be popped in the rest of the way by the back of a fist. Mine are so tight that I'm afraid I'll break them if I try any other method of install and I don't think they would ever fall off if installed correctly. They don't want to go on after the rim is installed.

 

Ditto on my steel wheel center caps,

They have to be installed with some force after the wheels are installed.



On a side note: I was pleasantly surprised to see the SR DCSB V6 trucks now get a MID in the dash like the nicer models now!

Makes me wonder if for 2019 the SR will get a power rear sliding window???

I would have gotten the manual in a heartbeat if it was available.

 

Personally, I think the colored MID on the 2018 SR is worth not having a manual.

Only the OR model doesn't have it.

Well the headlights are sold but the harness to plug and play TRD LED DRL headlights into an SR or SR5 may be coming up for sale (SOLD). Here is a bench test video using an SR harness on TRD Sport daytime running lights.

Anyone thought about adding the auto dimming mirror with the compass? Would like to know if it pre wired

Hi man! I did it... it is not prewired.. bought a compass mirror from another member and bought the harness from Bob’s automotive mirrors (great service) and ran the wire and add a fuse, set the zone on the compass and done... the compass color matches the blue color on the dash...

 

How hard was it running/hiding all the wires to where it looks oem

 

The fewer fancy gadgets in my Taco there are, the better. Manual gearbox or no Taco were the only acceptable choices when I bought mine.

 

Tuck the wire on the edge of the headliner and the windshield then remove the drivers side pillar, run the cable onto the fuse panel and use a “add a fuse”

100% oem.
