Congrats on the Pro OP. I got my OR for 32K so a Pro was never on the table. The roughly 15K difference was way too much for me to consider.

I wanted a Pro purely based on the looks, leather, heated seats, with no plans to mod.

I searched everywhere for a Pro 6 spd manual and came up empty. Dealerships in the area told me I was looking at a 6 month wait, but I couldn't wait that long especially since there was no guarantee it'd even come in during that window.

I found one Off-Road 6 spd manual with the tech and premium package in leather priced at 38k and the dealer wouldn't budge on the price. Besides, they played games and said another person was ready to buy it on the spot so I walked.

I came across an Off-Road 6 spd manual without the tech or premium package. Wife was initially against it because the two things she wanted it didn't have; leather (because of the dog) and heated seats (because we're moving back up north).

I did my research here on TW I told her I could put in Clazzio leather covers and heated seats in myself for less than $600. She was hesitant at first on the leather covers until I showed her some pics.

So in the end I went with a white Off-Road 4x4 and saved at least 10k which I kinda felt good about, but here's where the FML part comes in... and the reason I chose my handle TRDNoPro :(

I bought mine the Saturday before Easter and the very next week the dealership got a Pro 6 spd manual!

Do I have regrets? Well if I'd known I could've gotten a Pro 6 spd the very next week then I would've easily waited. But only hindsight is 20/20 right? So I can't really say I regret not waiting bc I was under the assumption it would've been at least 6 months which I couldn't have done. But in the end I saved a good good chunk of change and started my Faux Pro build so no 'regerts'!

Good luck to the OP! I'm sure you'll have no regrets. I'm jealous of all you Pro owners!!!

Also just to clarify although my heart was set on a Pro in the beginning, I am happy with my decision and do love my Off-Road!

I'll see how the ride quality is when I'm back driving NYC streets and may end up changing the suspension a bit, but so far the ride is way smoother than my previous 2 door JK Rubicon!

I love my OR. The only thing I liked about the Pro is the aesthetics.. but I'll be ordering a Pro grille and doing the BLHM, so that's the bulk of it. The hood scoop looks awesome, and I'd take one in a swap, but I can't see myself spending money on it since it's non-functional. Wheels I'll change out at some point regardless, so that's a moot point.

That leaves the moonroof, which was a deal-breaker for me. After owning a Miata for a few years ago, I told myself I'd never own another vehicle again without a moonroof at minimum. What I wasn't expecting, however, how awesome it is with the roof open, windows down, and the rear slider open. That rear slider really lets the wind come through, and it feels like I'm in a convertible again.

The leather in the Pro seems nicer. The leather in my OR is almost plasticky and feels very thin.

Agreed on moon roof, nothing like going top down with one arm at a light, I had a S2000. I have a Pro and my friend has a OR with tech and prem. package, the leather is identical except the red stitching on my seats.

Sorry I know this is off topic at this point since OP is getting the Pro, but thought this might be useful for those who couldn't get the Pro, like the Pro headlights, and find the BLHM too challenging. @Friedtacolover with the nice find. Not sure if the discount code is still valid though.

Edit - der... my bad I just got what you meant now. photobombed lol i like it!

I'm like the umpteenth Tacoma on the block. That's my neighbor's long bed with all of the chrome blacked out from the dealership as per his request. Looks even better in person. I've been trying to get that a shot like that from my driveway for a while now, but he rarely ever backs it into his driveway. It was my chance!

Thanks! I’ve seen this, and the price is great, but I’m gonna attempt to mod. I also want to swap out the LED strip for switchbacks while I’m in there.

wish I had leather seats and nicer suspension. but I also paid $8k less than a pro out the door and that's with me adding pro grill, exhaust, skid and wheels. king 2.5 ext res with camburg billets and katskinz napa will run me another $5k and its more "custom", but will ruin the warranty...

I just wish the thing would show up. When I ordered my Ram, I could tack it through the build, on the rails, etc. Here, I'm in the dark and it's driving me a little nuts. Looking forward to setting this damn SubaruethedayIeverboughtit Outbackontherackagain daily driver of mine on fire and dancing around it naked.

Already ordering stuff for it. Starting out slow (a first for me) with a Dakine tailgate pad.

    Thanks all.

Well to me they are both great choices and as I said I was going OR but saw this pro and changed my mind but I would of been very happy with OR. I still miss that moon roof!

Well wife told me stop worrying about what something may and may not be worth and get the vehicle you like and enjoy it and whatever it is worth when time it is fine because you got something you enjoyed. She is so right!!!

I have a ‘17 Pro and love it. Wish it were 6 spd and had a sunroof. But I love it nonetheless.
