Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Is there anybody in the Tampa or pinellas county area with the tune. I'd love to be able to test drive the tune. Might be a 12 pack in it for ya

Also I know we have talked a few times about it. I am very interested in getting things moving forward on the 4Runner, a dealer of ours wants to do some work on it. So we will free everything to one of you guys with one. Can't remember who. Would be later like winter.

I don't know the turbo kit price yet. Likely in line with other turbo kits. It will not be a $3k $4k kit though. Likely 6ish.

Stupid question, do I actually get software in the mail or will I just be getting the tactrix obd connector?

Cool, so I bought the tune from ovtune and ordered the tactrix obd cord from tactrix. Once the tactrix comes in i'm good to start install process(emailing ovtune for software file)?

Looks like this is an oxygen sensor. Visually inspected the 2 oxygen sensors I could see going into the exhaust. Jiggled the wiring to make sure the plugs were intact and connected. Now the check engine light is off(!).

Best guess is maybe I jostled something when these nice new 285’s rubbed against the cab mount (chopped) turning into my driveway coming home from the install (not a nice sound). If you think it could be related to the tune let me know, but that looks doubtful at this point.

Mat - ?? for you. Referring to current Dongel-less instructions.

When I ran P5flash.exe (page 3/10) to generate System ID the "interface box" shows nothing, but the System ID is identified. However in the instructions pic example (page 4/10) the "interface box" is populated with information.

Did I not get the full software pack to download (unzip) or is the illustration pic on page 4/10 wrong??

 

Sorry if this has been asked, but I can't find it. Is it possible to install 1.04 w/ the dongle even though the new FM software isn't available yet? I'm having a hard time finding the instructions. Is it the exact same as the 1.03 instructions, just a new file? Thanks.
