Two happy customers so far, @shawnkc10fe and @Chief Taco tell me that AT fitment is great. Those guys helped with development. I just need to make more now.

What materials are people interested in, so I have something to go on when I start? I have 2 Delrin(these have claim on them from back when I was doing that) and one aluminum in process so far.

I must say out of the mods I have done this is probably one of my favorites! The craftsmanship is excellent and it does look like a piece of art sitting on top of the gear shifter. I said a few posts ago that as much as I love it on the AT the MT guys must be in seventh heaven! The fitment is like it came from the factory...there is no sagging on the boot and all the gaps match up perfect. Just do not forget a little anti-seize. Any questions PM me and I will answer what I can?

I’m interested in a manual aluminum knob if/when you get them back in!

Sounds good. I believe I should feel a difference. Or do think I should go heavier? My city and zip is Shady Spring, WV 25918 to calculate shipping. I want a black one, but the main thing is the weight. Thanks.

If you want a "heavy" knob, then SS hybrid would be the way to go. You would have to figure out a coloring solution for that, as it would ship raw stainless (be sure to read the disclaimers in the OP about coatings). If weight is your priority, 300g is probably not going to be enough (just a hunch).

IMO, 300g feels perfect for my needs ... but I enjoy the look of stainless. My personal knob is 580g, and it still feels great to me even if it feels slightly heavier than my preferred 300g. Solid stainless is HEAVY @ 850g, so all of my comparisons are relative to that.

It really is impossible to discuss this, as these are our highly subjective personal preferences.

Shipping to your zip code will be $8.75.

Have you been able to see the pictures yet? If not, let me know and I can maybe email them to you, or figure something else out.

I do want a heavy one, maybe you could reccomend a process to make the heavier ones black that I could do.

I can't believe I am saying this, but Cerakote would be perfect, everywhere except on the threads.

Something like powdercoat would be too thick for my rather shallow engravings, but would be fine for no engraving (same with Duracoat). I can't really think of anything else that would hold up to constant shifting/touching.

    Pictures are inbound.

It looks wonderful compared to my printed one.

Sorry for the delay, but it arrived on Friday after I left for some camping.

    Thanks again!

Wow. The Taco is just slipping into gears. It feels like a lubricated joint.

This is exactly what I wanted.

3ft bar of Titanium that I purchased ended up being useless.

I made 5 attempts, and all had porosity. The supplier was very good about sending a replacement, and very fast I might add.

Wasted a morning, a carbide roughing insert and a grooving/part-off insert ... blah. That is life, I suppose.

On a lighter note, I finished up a stainless core on my home mill .. just to see if it was capable. I stalled the spindle a few times, but after a few tweaks it is no problem. Just a bit more time consuming, nothing crazy enough for me to abandon the option. I needed to get that figured out before I started promising things. Work is getting pretty busy, so I might have to rely on the house mill for a while.

    5 failed Ti knobs ...

Potentially a future discount item, if I decide the time and tool wear is worth it. We'll see.

Close up. Not all are THIS bad, definitely the worst one here.

Progress is being made. The vertical standing small aluminum pcs are AT cores, and I plan to hit those starting tomorrow.

    Rick,
Have you thought about making your own adapter boot to replace this?
    IMG_6243.jpg

It's only zip tied in place, and then you could have a universal mounting system and they would be interchangeable between manuals and autos. Sorry if this has already been covered.
