Pry bar in between the diff and inner joint cup give it some quick jars prying the axle out. Putting constant pressure on the c-clip that holds the axle in usually doesn't work.

Next time take the dust cap off gain access to the nut through the wheel and loosen it while the truck is on the ground. Also add some pipe to the end of your breaker bar.

Yeah I finally got it with a pry bar. Just like to be stupidly creative sometimes I guess.

Check out the diff side of the CV. Thoughts on this?

Looks to be in decent shape. I expected to see some damage from the worn bearing816940CE-60EE-4208-9A34-8F68BCFD0454.jpg

Looks normal to me. The axle engages into the outer spider gears within the differential and is supported by the diff. and other gears. The bearing that the axle rides on is just to the left of those splines. You would have major issues if you saw damage done to the splines of the axle because that bearing failed. Like damage to the diff housing, seal, spider gears etc.

I haven't seen a deal like that for a truck in forever. Trucks are like motorcycles and little jon boats around here. If you have one in decent shape that runs and drives then expect to pay at least 1000 bucks no mater the age or mileage. So did you get rid of the stang already?

Damn I missed that bright orange thing :anonymous:. I was more distracted by the steal of a deal on a truck even though it does have a minivan motor. Guess @PvilleJohn is practicing driving trucks with a minivan engine :boink:

That’s what I was looking at to make sure. Wanted someone that’s looked at it before to reassure me. Thanks. I don’t even have the new bearing in yet. Multi day project

No sir, keeping the stang. Just wanted a decent little daily to keep miles off the car. Plus I’m gonna try and flip it to get an older Tacoma

Runs a lil rough, it sat for a while during the transmission rebuild. Im hoping a good tune up / fuel system flush might remedy that.

Interior needs a good cleaning but other than that it’s good. No rips or tears in the seats
