I have a cvt tent that is on a RCI rack. Here it is mounted . I did move over the bracket later on so it’s centered across th bars.

 

Has anyone ever received a Tepui with the Travel Cover zipper sewn on the wrong way??? Mine is

 

mine was like that, however you can take the zipper out from the base of the tent and turn it around and this somewhat fixed my problem

 

Ive done that but then its a PIA to zipper it up because its almost inside the cover at that point and almost impossible to zip....I called Tepui and they said they sent a bunch out recently with zippers sewn on the wrong way to REI and to just send a picture of the zipper with a receipt of purchase and they would send a new one out for free.

 

Thanks! I thought about doing it that way but I was concerned about it being mounted that way. I ended up doing 1 bolt per side per cross member (meaning 6 bolts) and I'm wondering if that is enough. I went out and got much bigger washers hoping that would help.I'll be keeping an eye on them to see how it holds up.

 

I have the relentless fab rack and this is how mounted mine. I just switched the hardware to grade 8 hardware. It's held great so far.

I plan on taking off my rooftop tent when not in use. Will the nylon nuts become ineffective after removing and re installing them time after time ?

And is there a better way to go about this ?

 

This is how I’ve got mine attached to my RCI and it’s been great. Was fine for over a year before I took it off for winter, will be lugging it back onto the truck this week

Had a great time in Hatteras and at Frisco Woods Camp ground this past weekend. Just a question though, is there any one who knows whom to talk to at CVT about parts, I had a pole on my Awning break during a storm last trip and the customer service of course says it's not covered, so I have no issue paying for this pole, but they said I would have a quote and a call by end of business last Thursday and not a word. Thanks CVT for that let down.
