I do eventually want to do some small race stuff
And I’m a personal fan of chromemoly regardless of the “cool” factor
And that’s just what my fabrication guy uses for all his work

Hey since burning money is your thing go right ahead.
If your not heat treating chromoly after it’s welded then it’s a waste for the most part. Tig vs mig.... are equally as strong of a welding process.
Have you ever off-roaded before? Everything on the bottom of a truck gets beat up...
Be real with yourself... you arnt a big time racer.
But I digress... burn money as you see fit bud

Have you ever seen Brian @DMCtacoma ’s thread...he got a flat tire and caged, linked etc his entire truck. Using that same math it is hardly a stretch to compute how @Caboose117 blown diff led him to the same logical conclusion...duh

Hence why I’m doing a short course 4 link
Which is more economical financially and still has a setup allowing for upgrade later

Which is why I’m not getting them right now.
If I don’t get them now and I just budget for 3k
Then when I find trailing arms I like that are cheaper it will be a happy surprise :)

Full cab cage and full engine cage

There's a lot of people that would say that about buying a used car's price worth of suspension for a 7 year old truck :spy::stirthepot:

Those c/o’s Are gonna have a pretty good angle on them when running short course links if you are setting them up to work with a traditional canoe style lower link in the future.

To go from short course to traditional it requires changing rod ends and springs
And we are doing a mock up with both styles of arms to be sure

Wait...wait ...wait @Caboose117 you keep saying short course style build but now you are doing regular links but still mounting the CO’s on the axle !? bro that makes zero sense, if you are going to have regular links then just build a bed cage for regular links and be done with it. There is no way in hell that you can build a bed cage that will work for both the CO going to the axle or the links. You are setting yourself up for another complete rebuild.... You also keep saying that the short course set up will leave more bed space but that is dead backwards too ?

You haven't bought twice, you've bought three times now. And according to the "plans" you have been posting, you'll be buying rear suspension 3 different times as well. In my opinion, your whole thought process is completely fucking stupid and all you're doing is wasting time and money. Personally, I hope you never turn your "operation" into a 501c3, it would give false hope to many people. You did not need a wider rear end, all you're doing is trying to justify wasting more time and money on a new front kit. You even said "buy once cry once," but you're not even following what you say. Three times. THREE TIMES you'll be buying different suspension for your truck. I'd be fucking pissed if I was your associate/friend/business partner who had to pick up the slack for your dumb ideas.

    Waste of money.

I guess when you do the work yourself and actually use your truck, a flat tire is perfect justification for a build.

Jeeze I forgot I was spending your money...
    Oh wait?

I’m saying I don’t want to buy another rear end again
I never wanted to buy a rear end at all but since mine is unrepairable gotta buy something.
I spent months looking at pull a part and scrap yards for a compatible rear end for this turd gen to no avail so I just invested in the camburg rear end.
If my build doesn’t fit your taste and thought process then don’t look at it,
I have explained what I am doing and have tried to avoid making mistakes but shit happens.

The Baja shits was a wash, I lost no money getting rid of it and replacing it with total chaos stuff, same with the shocks,
I’ve now sold the Total chaos stuff and all the shocks front and rear and lost a minimal amount. So if you like it or not I am still in the green and all purchases and upgrades are ran through 4 different people before they get the green light to move forward.
You see 10% of the show and are giving 100% of your opinion :)

I’ll keep posting pictures of it all as I get stuff done so I can keep listening to our complaints and opinions cause they are just oh so great <3

I was saying we are gonna do mock up when things are being built for both traditional links and the short course links that will actually be used, to make sure both set ups cycle properly.

The cost of the links that my fab guy makes and would prefer I use if I upgrade to traditional links later on would be 3k.

    Sorry for the confusion

The truck is being built short course 4 link

    No traditional links right now

Typical internet look at me kinda build good for you bud, what makes it funny is you have little to zero knowledge of the suspension systems, set up, and tuning a truck or relevant questions to have a real discussion about something that people on here can contribute to. Just another idiot with idle hands and money to burn to be "internet cool"
