Manfred's #thicc boi aka 'White Rhino'

Almost a year, and I bought them used. Before me they were @fatfurious2. I think total they’re probably 2 years old with 25k miles on them and they’re doing well. They are the older style though, but the new ones are pretty much the same thing.

Frig that's some good wheel well spacing. Mines getting real close and I'm desperate to stop the rubbing haha

Hahaha fuck no, my truck is a pig. The rear bumper/spare is 270, cap 200, and drawer system with tools around 200-240. Plus steel skids, sliders, bumpers, winch, etc.

 

Shit. I didn't even think of skid plates. How's your ride quality on and off trail?

Ya it looks like there's almost no sag.

 

It’s ok, but I attribute that to my shocks. I don’t have anything fancy by any means. OME shocks/coils up front and bilstein extended 5100 in the rear. It drives like I’d expect a truck to drive, and I don’t have anything to compare it too. I’ve never been in a truck with high end suspension.

 

Well you can't win them all. And I'm definitely dissappointed


Don't think I let the heat dissipate entirely on the second last bake. Damn you thermal dynamics!!

Got a couple options.

1. New lens from junkyard or ebay (70+ bucks)

2. Attempt to heat and meld back the lens ( risky and won't get the light to be perfect)

3. Take off the OEM lens off the current headlight after a good polish and swap the bubbled one out. (thinking my best option so far)

 

Dang, that sucks. When I did my BHLM I was scared of that too, and I erred on the side of caution with the heat. Took forever but the came out ok.

 

Ya so I'm at an impass. 85 bucks to get one lens new from Amazon. The silver lining is I didn't try this on my stock lenses. But shitty because I failed at a mod. Dang

 

Dang! At that point I'd just buy these for a little more money.

That's not a bad buy. If I go that far I might even consider halos but then I don't know how well they look on our super whites.

Yeah I'm not sure either. When you say halos, do you mean projectors with halos, or the giant halos like this? Also how sexy is this truck?!?!

 

Is that yours?! Holy shit that flex. Prejectors are smaller and halos are larger yes yes?

Retrofit is when you take apart your headlights and install a projector and use HIDs. You get a nice crisp cut off line.





Halos are just the LED ring on the outer edge, in this case the orange light, and on the white truck the blue ring.

 

Seems all right. Kind of a ricer look to me. What do you think?

 

I like the halos! That truck I posted, I even asked him what size halos he had because I was going to copy him, but he didn't remember the size so I ended up not doing it. A full retrofit is really nice and a huge upgrade, but also hugely expensive. Parts alone is a few hundred dollars. Plus you've got to build them which leaves room for error.

 

Oh gosh... I think I saw one earlier in the BHLM post where someone attempted it. Going to hard pass on it haha.

 

Haha same here. I'll buy a preassembled one if I ever go that route.
