This is Bodhi & Tallulah. Bodhi is my daughter's Blue Heeler, Tallulah, our 17 lb. Beagle. She was alpha to Bodhi's 40 lbs.! They played tug-o-war all the time. Since my daughter has moved out taking Bodhi, Tallulah is a bit depressed and insecure. We are actively looking for a companion for T.
I had never experienced a BH before. When my daughter was not home, he followed me everywhere around the house!

I made this out of a 10' stick of pvc (it's like, 32"x20" and 4" off the ground, perfect size for my pup.) I just used regular canvas fabric screwed into the pipe and it's sagged a bit, think mostly due to the pipes turning once weight was on the bed.

Next up is some stronger ripstop fabric that is triple stitched and fitted around the frame to prevent it from sagging

Probably going to go with this

I like this design better than the ones I've seen offered on line and locally. The ones I've seen all have holes at the corners that could cause a leg to get caught and cause an injury.

    It's pretty simple to make
    http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Dog-Cot-for-around-10/

I don't think you could easily have the corner gaps filled if you sew it, but with the screws it seems like that's how most online guides have it

I've been looking at a couple different designs to build a couple for my son's dogs, I'll check out the instructables. I'll be making mine out of iron pipe to match some of the other items I've built for him and he has built himself. Thanks for the link.

Dogs can have a hard time walking on tile. My current puppy (Golden Retriever) slips on ours all the time but is young enough not to care. My previous dog (German Shepard mix) would only walk on one side of the floor and would back up to get himself to the living room. Family and others would comment on it good or bad but it was noticeable. He had slipped on it enough when he was younger and did not want to get hurt. He was pretty smart. He also hesitated at the vet where they had tile floors. He was not stupid at all.

The only ladies my dogs get attention from are the ladies that work at Maverick....

But the puppies that come from my dogs, they get me a little attention.
