Where does everyone get their metric hardware locally? Already checked Lowe’s and Home Depot with no luck. McMaster Carr sells what I need, but 50 is the min quantity and I only need 10.

McGuckins if you’re near Boulder. Ace has a section that’s bigger than HD or Lowe’s but still not huge. Jax has hardware, too.

    X2. They are my go-to when HD/Lowes/Ace don't have what I want.

The fastenal stores I've been to on the front range have been really disappointing. I think I'm 0/4 door various bolts I was able to get elsewhere.

The one in GJ is good, they let me dig through all of their inventory once lol

@EAF4Runner how much towing capacity are you looking for?

Not sure how I didn't realize it until now, but the 14+ Silverados with the 5.3 will tow over 9k with the 3.42 rear end and 11k with the 3.73. :stirthepot:
    And thats 16/22mpg.

I have been thinking about the 1500's. Trailer only weighs max 7500lbs. I don't "need" a 2500 6.0 or a diesel. Main thing I am worried about with a 1500 is the weight in the pickup bed with the dirtbike, generator and future dirtbike for my wife and kiddo.

Air bags. Thats what I'll be doing for a slide in camper. I looked at the 6.0's again and that mileage is just shit, 13 max. Which isn't far from where I'm at right now. But 16/22 is a hefty improvement when you start racking up miles.

My cousins 2500 that I haul 2500 pounds in the bed with has air bags and has no squat and handles fine on dirt roads. Slightly rougher than the Tundra with the decked weight in the bed.

True, I don't like the idea of getting terrible gas mileage all the time. The sequoia gets 18mpg on road trips. The company tundra with a work topper only gets 12-13 and we are filling it up with gas all the time.

The new Chevy 1500's do look super nice and they have a good sale going on right now. I have never bought new and I don't want to spend that much but it sure would be nice to have a brand new truck

Yeah, I'm sure they are clearing out inventory before more specs about the 19's are released. So the longer you wait, the better the deals will likely be on 18's. New is nice'ish... my only new ones were the last two out of 18'ish. But I'm quickly talking myself into a 14/15. The best part of new is the smell, and it only lasts a month or two.

Yup, everyone says mileage doesnt matter that much... when they aren't the ones planning a trip. But, just 2k miles and the sequoia will be $334 in gas at $3/gal where the tundy at 13mpg is going to run you $467. Not a huge difference money wise, until you turn that 2k miles into a 20k mile road trip. A lot of extra stopping and a lot of extra money donated to big oil. Not to mention a big part of "overlanding" for me is better fuel range. But I do lose out on expo points for lacking 4 jerry cans.

Yep, new is out. Money off of $50-60k does not make it affordable.
