Okay, I need some good quality honest opinions here. With my new job, I pull this big ass trailer basically every weekend of the summer. Mostly all on the highway (Columbia last weekend, Charlotte this past weekend, Asheville next weekend)

I’m worried that the Tacoma just might not be “strong” enough to do it for I don’t know how many years to come.

I’ve been contemplating trading in for an F150 3.5L with the ecoboost engine.

    Thoughts?

Solid option for sure, but the 2.7 does just as well.

If I was towing I’d go Canyon diesel.

Looks like you could use an AAL or airbags

    Hmmmmmm diesel you say...

Let’s say gas mileage is important to me. 2.7 Ford, 3.5 ecoboost Ford, our diesel canyon?

I believe @jhodge83 has one of those engines in his new F-150. Perhaps he can chime in...

If MPG is what you’re after while towing you won’t beat a diesel.

Keep the Tacoma and tell your company to give you a gas card and a Tundra. Or buy a Tacoma Longbed and throw the lacrosse gear in the back. No one will steal it cause no one likes lacrosse but spoiled white kids that aren’t athletic enough to play football or baseball.

It's a decent sized trailer, but not big enough that I think the Tacoma would have any trouble with it unless it was just slammed with heavy stuff.

One of the guys I camped with this weekend was pulling a pretty size-able travel trailer behind his third gen with no trouble.

I was gonna say that but y'all SC people all seem to be looking for and finding reasons to get rid of a good truck.
