Man... that's my neck of the woods

We spend a large part of the summer and hunting season in that area.

No doubt! I should have been camping at least 3 or 4 times by now. But my youngest son just Graduated High School, starting a big new project at work... and throw in a week and a half of torture (kidney stones)... things have been sort of out of kilter to say the least.

    I'm good now.

I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy. That had me in pain for a week and a half... and really, pretty much out of any kind of commission for 2 weeks.

I haven't done shit. I went down right when those Fox 2.0s were on Craigs, ended up missing out on them. Then when I went back to work, they have me starting up a new project... It's been nothing but problems. I've been pretty much just trying to relax over the last couple weekends.

I did get my gussets for my 4x4 swap spindles. I do have the spindles about halfway prepped to weld. That WD40 stuff you suggested works! I'm probably going to get to order the Tundra brakes (finally) next weekend. Oh, and I was able to get a manual jack shaft from a dude in Fresno the weekend before my kidneys went to shit.

    Yep. I hear ya.

I just need to get my brakes done and add that 5 lug leaf before mid September. (I need to get it done before hunting season)

I'm planning on doing the 4x swap in November. Right after deer season and right when I get my bonus... Bonus goes to trans and TC (and anything else I still need at that point).

Glad your feeling better @Uphillshunter that shit is no fun. I luckily haven't had any health issues outside of having to get a colonoscopy done, but my grandma's been having some issues.

I went camping at Clark Fork with some friends over the weekend. I wanted to do some exploring on Saturday out by Eagle Meadows, but the gate was closed after your go down the hill just past the Niagra Rim Trail. Yesterday I took the long way home and went over the pass, up 395 and took 4 back. I've never been past Alpine Lake on 4 so that was fun. Very narrow and steep around Ebbot's pass.

How was Clarks Fork area? We did some scouting up that way, toward McCormick trail last year. We planned on trying to hunt a couple places up there... then it went up in a total fricken inferno the week before opening day.

Thanks for the update on the Eagle Meadows road. We'll be looking to try and get back to Long Valley and Relief Reservoir as soon as the road is opened up again.

The whole mountain side to the north I think was burnt, and the road up just past the bridge that goes to Fence Creek and up was also closed, but the campground was pretty much the same as it always is.

Ya, French Creek road is the area we were going to try to hunt. That goes up to the McCormick trailhead. I talked to forest service while we were camping near Bell Meadows last year during the Clarks Fork fire... he said French Creek road was real bad. May be closed for quite a while do to unstable hillsides.

No Sir. I don't think I've ever seen a bear in that area.
