Kinda sounds like the carrier bearing. Looks like the noise happens when the axle moves up and down. Also could be loose u-joint bolts. Have you checked the torque on your u-joints??

This is on the '17, correct?

Warranty. Show them your video AFTER they tell you can't replicate.

Yes, its a 2017. O they will be able to replicate it, it happens everytime almost you take off from a stop or come to one. You would have to be deaf not to hear it.

There's a difference in actual replication and telling you they can't. I mean just in case it's one of 'those' kinds of dealers.

2nd most popular reply will be 'normal'.

    Which it isn't.

Mine does this too. I've had my rear diff replaced, had new springs and a steering dampener and it still does it. Fix my rumble strip though.

I'd be looking at the carrier bearing. Sure looks like it makes the sound every time the axle goes up and down. Also could be axle at carrier bearing too not sliding smoothly. The axle is supposed to move in and out smoothly. When it doesn't it's axle wrap is what it called. Feels like a basket ball rolling in the truck bed if its bad enough. Yours sounds like something in the drive line is loose.
Carrier bearing mounts have been found loose from factory as are U-joint bolts not torques to spec.

Quick crawl under the truck and look at carrier bearing mounts should tell you pretty quickly if its that or not. Loose one looks like this:

    new bearing.jpg

And vid to show you how to add spacers should you have a vibration after lifting but shows you where the bolts are to tighten. Pink arrow pointing at the carrier bearing mounting bolts.

What if you don't have a lift? Would this help any or make it worse?

I do have bilstein 5100 all the way around and one inch blocks in the back I believe. Guy before me, put it on the truck and then sold it to me with 2900 miles on it. Then he went and got a brand new ram 1500 rebel. Said he wanted a v8 back. I was planning on taking the bilsteins off soon anyway, replace with ads or king and dakars in the rear.

Tight with a 1/2 drive ratchet. I didn't use a torque wrench just tightened it up "very snug". If all I had was 1/4 drive I'd have gotten out my torque wrench which is 1/2" drive. I think its supposed to be 30 ft lbs. or there abouts. Not balls tight but 1/2 ratchet should snug it up good. The spacer kit has specs and longer bolts to go with.

Do you have a clunking sound when coming to a stop?? Axle wrap is likely whats up with that. Which looks like the OP issue but the sound is like a basket ball rolling around in the bed

Beefier suspension will fix. OR search here for fix without lifting.

So tightened her up nice and snug but no luck still making the knockin noise. Should I try the carrier bearing drop before I take it up to toyota?

Those 2 bolts we've seen loose as in about to fall out on 1 or both sides from factory. Not common but happens.
The carrier bearing spacer is just a spacer between frame and clamp on both sides with longer bolts. Is the fix for some noise/vibration issues after lifting. It's the cheapest first course of action. It's gets more involved after this.

OP your issue may be axle wrap.... do the video over again but have the camera looking at the axle from the side and get the diff in the vid. You should see the suspension going up and down, the noise happens likely with that up and down movement. Looking at it from the side will show you when it happens. Axle wrap will be with the rear axle binds a little bit going in and out and the diff will change angles slightly at the time of the slight bind causing the vibration/noise. If that makes any sense.

Next easiest cheep check is the torque specs on the u-joint bolts and grease your zerks while yer there. I think you have 3?? I've got 5 because early build date.

I had axle wrap.. after my suspension upgrade it went away but then I had the grinding sound/feel at low speed - I added the carrier bearing spacers all problems gone.

I'm not a fan of the sport suspension. OR ride is much better and the 5100s ride like the OR, I think they are similar valving. The Sport suspension leaves a little bit to be desired IMHO.

These issues are common here on TW world cause people that have this come here looking for solutions. I don't think in the big picture is all that common. But its not just 3rd gens either.

I don't recall you mentioning any lift. Is that correct?

    Then I'd leave it alone.

Suspect one of the reasons you paid over 30 large was to have a warranty. Time to cash in.
