Make sure the plugs have been changed. Bad habit of those snapping off in the head. Also the passenger side exhaust manifold has a history of cracking. Used to own a 5.4 and they’re powerful motors, just those 2 things to worry about.

 

Yeah I've had to work some heads for people where they've broke off in them or messed the threads up.

 

5.4's are a non-starter for me.

-Plugs pull threads out of the head/break off
-Cam phasers
-Cracked exhaust manifolds
-Fuel pump driver

 

Been seeing this dude running around town...finally got a picture. Sometimes ya just gotta wonder .

 

There are tie wraps and eye bolts in the rear bumper...

Shake that person's hand and give them a wet kiss.

 

Must be reading too much on TW... Gotta have that snorkle for all those puddles in the mall parking lot.

 

Geez was so preoccupied with the amazing snorkel I missed the recovery shackles!

 

I learned from Tacomaworld that's for getting clean air to the motor, thus that's a good mod.....

 

Texted this pic to my wife & said there'd be consequences if she keeps taking my new 4Runner.

She replied, "Yes. Consequences.".
LOL.

I would take that as some road head in the car as a consequence of buying it.

 

Dude that's included when you get one man. Stuff gets soo much easier.

 

Anybody watching the Summit? Both seem kinda nervous but Trumps body language, (pat on the arm and back, go this way, etc.) seems to really point towards him showing dominance.

 

Even used, that GTR was still waaaaay out of my price range.

Went in to see a 08 Land Cruiser. Didn't like it honestly. Felt too bulky, heavy, and awkward on the road. Comfortable but not enjoyable to drive.

 

Yeah for some reason they seem a lot bulkier than they actually are.

I did just buy a 4Runner.
Wife keeps wanting to drive it now and leaving her Highlander for me to drive.

We've been looking around for a while for her and just couldn't decide.

Can tell you that even though my 4R has 3rd row seat, there are not enough AC vents or cupholders to really be the primary family vehicle here.
