Based on the issues everyone else had with the weather app, I'll pass, lol.

You mean the weather app that tells you the current weather? I use my windshield for that. ;)

Yeah, no, not that one. That's in the dash, not the entune unit.

just to give you an idea, what you do is fool the headunit that you are doing around 3-4 mph while you are doing the speed limit (let say 35 in city and 65 on the highway). if you have it in bypass mode for say 5 mins or 10 mins, you could miss a turn or off ramp during that time.

it will correct itself once you are out of bypass mode, but if you forget to turn if off, that will be fun making adjustments to your trip.

if you are mindful of this limitation, its not a big issue as some have good success with the bypass mode, but like anything ... pro's and con's to the bypass mode.

I hear you, there's pros and cons to everything. Like I said, it hasn't bothered me to the point I would bypass the safety feature. But at least there is a work around option

in my opinion, I would just go out and get a 4" garmin with lifetime maps for about $100-130. never have to pay for map updates even via ebay (which you will have to do with the entune unit). plus you can move it between vehicles.

ive had a 4", 5" and now a 7" garmin unit. hand the old ones down to the kids and swap the 7" between my 4runner, Tacoma (now tundra) as needed.

I just mainly use Google map from my phone, it's Free and always update. Plus if you needed to go somewhere with no cell signal, you can just download the full map from GoogleMap to your phone, so it will work offline.

I downloaded the 2018 update. Couldn’t get it to run though. So I have nothing to report. Lol!

I've had my Texas Taco since end of '16 and I never got an update pop up in my truck. I feel like I been missing out.

And it says "This update released on Sep 08 2017". So it's probably the same as the 16/17 update that's been out for a while.

    True, true.

I don't see that the firmware numbers match though.

Same here but even when I went to kennedy meadows w the downloaded map it was not as good as the oem nav.....at least before the update.

The update definitely messed it up bad, it was trying to route me via a fire road (10hr) vs a paved road (5hrs)....and i wouldn't let me choose the route.
**Always know where the hell you going.

No, but for some reason my iPhone/entune HU won’t let me know of an incoming text message anymore. It used to work like a charm then bam! Nothing ...
