The climate control? I was kind of luke warm about it at first, but ill admit it’s pretty damn nice. I’m glad I got it. I don’t have to constantly screw with the settings and just let them be.

I have auto modes in both of my cars and use neither of them. I'm not about full blast fans for 5 minutes every time I get in the car.

Had them in my previous vehicle and never used them so didn't opt for them in my Tacoma.

I'm quite happy with my auto cc. Works better than the wife's Audi.

We've had a few cars that had auto and manual controls. Only one of the three cars did well with ACC. One had to have the sun sensor covered to work semi-okay. And, one was just crappy.

So in the end, I'm happy with the manual controls on the Taco. Zero regrets.

Is there a manual overide for when the auto sensors fail in the future?

I know the early 90 Z cars where very complex to repair when they puked. And they didn't work that well 25 years ago either............

I always thought climate control was stupid until I got a vehicle with it. Now I just love it. One time I was going on a long road trip, and where I started it was in the 60s. Started driving, and made my first stop 4 hours later. Got out and it was in the high 30s and I had no clue. The car stayed comfortable the whole time.

I always have the AC set to Auto in my Taco. I tried to to get my wife to use the auto setting in her NX, but she doesn’t like it. To each his own I guess.

I tried the auto ac and didn't like it. When the fan dials back it makes me hot so I turn the fan back up which disables auto. I don't really see the point in it. The temp doesn't fluctuate enough to need an automatic setting.

Have auto in other car. It's either high or low or direct vents accordingly. Never use it. Just another thing to break.

I have the manual, and wish for the auto (wife has it in her car). I love the set it and forget it function... just like in everybody's house. How many folks here manually control their home thermostat? Same idea. However, I asked the service tech about upgrading the system and he said it would be quite expensive as there are a number of additional/changed components. I mentioned that I would likely consider trading my vehicle up and he recommended against it, as he said there are some serious issues with the damper systems that are very apparent in the top tier - 4runner/Landcruiser. It may be a localized or just his opinion issue, but that put pause in my deliberations.

One way or another you have to manually work it. I have had it in my vehicles in the past. It's simpliar to turn the knob than switch out of auto and readjust. Got it in my wife's Lexus and still don't use it. I feel I have more control with the manual.

Yeah, but house temps don't get up to 160F inside when not running and the AC is there to regulate temps all day and night. If my truck was running all day and night, auto would work great.

I don't hear my ac unit unit come on unless I'm standing by it, I do however feel it. I just don't litk the fan blowing full blast and prefer to control it myself for my own comfort. Get a few people in the vehicle and someone is always complaining.

I have to go back. I do use and like half of the auto climate control. There's two things that are automated. One that I don't believe can be turned off and the other which can.

    1) Temperature
    2) Fan/vent control

I like and use the auto temperature. As in you set it to 70* and it will give whatever temperature air needed to get the cab of the truck to 70*. I thought this was standard these days but after some research apparently it's not. This as opposed to having a slider that goes from cold to hot and you get whatever it's set on.

I do not like and do not use auto fan/vent control. And I'm fairly certain the "Auto" button in the center of the degree rotary dial controls this and only this feature.
