There's a guy on TW that's put together a comprehensive prepper list for vehicles. Even if you don't include everything he recommends, it's a great checklist to reference. Maybe someone could link that thread for you.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Depends on type and level of emergency. How ready do you want to be?

    Vehicle stuff:
Ready for a flat tire in summer?
Flat tire in northern wilderness in winter?
Broken ujoint on a trail alone at night?

    People stuff:
    Minor cuts & scrapes?
    Protection from drunk hillbillies?
    Major cuts or gashes?
    Animal attacks?
    Missing limbs?

All really. Maybe some kind of general purpose kit that covers most circumstances but not at an extreme level. Maybe you cant get home because of a fire grid locking freeways (Happens alot to me). Or becoming injured playing rec sports after work. Or some crack head wants to smash in your window at a red light. Anything really.

Here's the full list of what's in the GHB I keep in the truck. It varies some from season to season, and I'll occasionally dump it all out and reassess for things I should add or remove. Of course, I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

    Toilet paper (vacuum sealed)
    100 feet of paracord
    Duct tape (flat-wrapped)
    1 Pint of bourbon
Pad of paper & pencil (leave notes or record information)
    2 Bandanas (also vacuum-sealed)
2 pairs of socks (Heavy wool in the winter and light wool in the summer) and 1 pair of underwear (also vacuum sealed)
Leather work gloves (swapped out for insulated leather work gloves in the winter)
    Small whetstone
4 spare AAA batteries (for my LED Maglight Solitaire)
    Dust mask
Bar of hotel soap & small bottle of hand sanitizer
Travel toothbrush w/small tube of toothpaste
    Small sewing kit
2 heavy duty 30 gallon garbage bags
    P38 can opener
    Binoculars (small field glass model)
    Whistle (plastic!)
    Trowel
    Insect repellent (summer only)
    Compass
Candle lantern & 1 spare candle
    Mora Classic #2
    Leatherman
40rds ammo for my carry gun & 2 spare mags (9mm in the winter, .380 in the summer)
    Small first aid kit
    3 Fire mice
    Bic lighter
    Firesteel
Eye glasses (I normally wear contacts but like having the glasses as a backup)
    Poncho (summer only)
    Handwarmers (winter only)
    2 Space blankets
Gas shutoff multitool (added in last year since Nat Gas has become so common in my area)
    Water treatment pellets
    2 cans tuna
    Small tarp (5x8?)
    Pack of Clif Bars
2 bottles of water & 1 steel canteen
    Lifestraw (summer only)
Camillus Carnivore (new addition this week!)

I also have my truck gun & two boxes of shells, but that obviously doesn’t fit in the bag. There’s a wool blanket under the rear seats, and I’ve also got some other random gear in the truck but not in the bag, like sunglasses, swiss army knife, fuel for my zippo, boonie hat, contact lens container & a bottle of saline, folding shovel, etc. During the cold weather seasons I also keep a pair of heavy insulated boots, 2 extra pairs of heavy wool socks, ski pants, wool sweater, a heavy jacket, wool hat, and waterproof winter gloves in the truck, and usually a pair of snowshoes too.

Edit- There's also tools and towing equipment, ratchet straps, etc, but they don't really count as 'emergency gear'

Toilet paper, tampons and condoms, and road side assistance on speed dial. All those lend themselves to emergencies. :D

I have a towel to dry it off after the drive thru car wash. That's it.
