Albany cop was being a dick and said i was reckless driving because my rear tire broke traction for like a second.
He was all like you were fish tailing between lanes and shit.

Really i was just coming out the driveway from work and I want to go down the street so i drove out and gave it just a little to much gas so a tire spin for a second. I saw the cop to right after that so i pull over right away

I'm paying $125 to insure my Tacoma every month, full coverage and a $1000 deductible. Insurance in CA 'aint cheap. I have a clean driving record too, no tickets or accidents in the past 3 years which is all that counts against your insurance. I have Esurance, was the cheapest legit plan I could find. Even Geico, whom my brother works for, was more expensive with his family discount.

Fortunately, my fiancé has USAA and I can get with them once we're married...they quoted me at $75/month for even better coverage so I'm going to jump on that. You have to have a family member that is/was in the military to get with them though. Her grandfather was.

I have State Farm and it costs something like $200 a month for me. That’s ONLY liability coverage. I can’t afford Comprehensive until they take the age restriction off.

This is for a 2WD Pickup. If the insurance showed I have 4WD the rate goes up.

I hope mine can get that low soon. My cruiser is fully covered and very well insured for its value through our family business which is nice, but the Taco is still like $750 every six months for nothing more than liability and that's through progressive :/ I have a clean driving record, no accidents, no tickets, but I'm 22 so I'm fucked apparently.

Same here. I’ve had my license for two years and I’ve never been as much pulled over before. No tickets, clean driving record, but I still get the “being young” tax.

Man I was lucky I was in school until I was 26, my parents took care of that until I graduated and got out on my own. Don't know what it cost them back then but if it was that much, I'm glad I didn't know about it...man that's crazy.

Good for you, that's great money to be earning at that age...plus no rent. I always held part-time jobs while in school but didn't make any real money until after I graduated.

I cannot imagine what my insurance would be like if I reported the Taco rollover. I'm glad I could just pay to rebuild a different truck out of pocket.

That's the best time to save money, when you don't have rent...it's almost always the biggest expense you're going to have until you own a home and even then, home ownership has it's own huge expenses. Save money while you're able to live at home and you'll be much more comfortable when the bigger bills comes later and you're getting settled into it. I have so many peers that graduated with next to nothing to their names and have struggled hard for the past several years since we finished school.

Heard on the radio recently that less than 10% of millennials have more than $1000 to their names in a checking or savings account...that just depresses me to think about. The economy is going to be in for a very rough ride when they all get even older and closer to retirement age if something doesn't change by then.

Yep, definitely not buying that Double Cab now. That makes me feel better to have some cash saved up.
