    SURVEY:

Keep chrome lugs or switch to black?

How much does everyone else hate my chrome lugs? @Freegolf had strong opinions.

I say keep chrome! It provides nice contrast against the wheels. I do the same on my truck for that reason.

Thanks, Randy! That was part of my original logic as well. In addition to being able to reuse my OEM lugs and locks.

Chrome as long as the tires/rims are clean. If they’re always dirty, who could tell the difference?

Well, that’s easy because they are normally always dirty haha. Every now and then, I’ll wash and wax

Are you still running the stock suspension without wheel spacers?

Hello! Yep, stock suspension with no wheel spacers. The offset/backspacing of the 4Runner Pro wheels allow you to clear the 1” larger tires without rubbing on the UCAs/suspension, cab mount, or fender liners.

    Stock setup
    • 265/65R17 - Toyo A30 B
    • 17x7.5 ET+30 (5.43 BS) - 2016-2018 OEM Tacoma Sport
    Current setup
    • 265/70R17 - BFG KO2 C
    • 17x7 ET-4 (4.16 BS) - 2015-2018 OEM 4Runner Pro

I’m likely going to go up to 285s after I add my OME lift which will likely require a CMC and minor trimming. I’m still deciding on wheels - if I want to keep my 4Runner Pro wheels or switch to aftermarket like the @SCSPerformance F5s or @JdMeF9SiR2 FN FX Pros. The 4Runner wheels are only 7” wide so they technically can’t safely run 285s (tire manufacturers recommend >7.5) although a lot of people do it successfully. I like the look and offroad benefits of extra rubber with 16” wheels but I’m leaning towards 17” so that I can run the C-rated 285/70R17 KO2s which are a lot lighter than the E-rated versions which is what most 285 tires come in.

Thanks, bud! I appreciate it!

Might as well just go with the FN FX Pro wheels. Retain the looks, but gain an inch of width

Thanks! I keep going back and forth.

Thanks! I’m considering those too along with the F5s (andddd maybe even Volk TE37s).

Actually considering switching from black wheels to one of the bronze variations as well for one of those wheel choices...:notsure:

Any one have thoughts of switching to bronze wheels versus black for this truck? I’m leaning more towards darker bronzes like the @SCSPerformance F5s versus light bronzes like the Level 8 MK6s. Thanks!

I thought the dark bronze was too dark. Went with the matte bronze instead

I definitely like darker bronzes like the @SCSPerformance F5s versus light bronzes like the Level 8 MK6s. The FN FX Pros and TE37s are a little lighter than the SCS F5s if I recall but they also look nice. I just don’t like the super light bronze wheels where it appears more like a gold or yellow.

Simple black or gunmetal also looks great though... bronze is definitely outside of the realm of what I would normally choose but I’ve been digging it lately on the BBP trucks.
