Ive searched for years for good shooting spots. Not always easy to get more than a few hundred yards, on level ground, with a clear line of sight, while legal.

We now pickup brass, trying to keep what spots we have clean. Hoping others dont see the potential and start blasting everything in sight. Visited a shooting spot in the greater bowman area a few weeks ago and found piles of plastic 12g shells :(

Yeah I always pick up my brass and plus extra if others have left it. I really want a shooting net to catch my brass. Mind sharing the shooting spot? Pm?

I went to a spot on Memorial Day Weekend and came across a little off chute and ended up in an area where I saw some old fire rings and a spot where people actually ended up shooting at stuff with a huge log in the background. It was in Sierra NF. Shooting is allowed with the usual rules

Seriously. It only takes a a couple minutes to pick up shit before reloading the mags for the next round. Pisses me off seeing people neglect the forests over dumb shit.

Example - went to go see General Grant and all the other large sequoias and ended up finding some little shit throwing his capri-sun on the ground in addition to several waterbottles, etc.

Never done the rubicon in the toy. I’ve taken my Jeep a few times. The last time I lost my arb compresser half way thru didn’t need a tug only had to place three rocks. I like traveling thru it at night little more of a challenge with the shadows an no traffic. I saw a few toy and keeps rigs on 31’s just got to pick your line or by pass on stuff . I went with a few folks that can fix things great mechanics

In Sunnyvale, you can duck hunt on the levees behind the sewer treatment plant. Is it too much to pick that shit up so people can keep hunting in an urban environment?

I think alot of people dont even think about their brass as being trash.

We occasionally lay out a tarp and shoot next to it, hoping most everything lands on the tarp and makes an easy cleanup. Usually only when we are going through a couple thousand rounds per trip, thanks to my new money pit (tacoma) those dont happen too often anymore.

Are there still aloy of bypasses on the rubicon? Maybe my camp limo will make the trip someday after all lol

Shotgun shells are the worst. I can understand someone not finding all 2500 of their spent brass, but how do you miss giant plastic shells... Blatant disrespect

On a lighter note - I ended up snagging a second gen long bed topper and putting it on the third gen.

Put a hefty 1/4" weather strip on the bottom of the rails b/c the old ones were literally falling apart. New snap screws and velcro at the front of the bed. Not a perfect fit but definitely good enough for summer camping.

    IMG_2835.jpg

PS - front screen isn't on so that's why theres no coverage on the rails

Thinking of putting two pods on the rear up by the top of the bed. Probably going to go with Caliraised's mounting points for both driver and passenger. They are going to be cheap-o pods (Auxbeam). Is it possible to incorporate two switches? One routing to the usual switch spot by the steering wheel and the other into the bed somewhere?

It would be pimp (yes, PIMP) if I were needing to take a shit in the middle of the night and turn on the rear pods from the truck bed (only when I am not around other people, of course.)

When they limited the trail to ten feet on either side from center line they did away with a lot of the bypasses.

Technically the little sluice is the trail and you’re supposed to drive it but people still use the old bypass. Although even that bypass has a nice stair step off camber that put a ding on my B-pillar on my pickup first time I went through it...
