I have the off road and like the soft springs and shocks for the bad roads in Jersey but when turning, the truck leans too much, feels like an old truck that needs new shocks. There must be a better compromise.

5100s and 885s with AALs sport suspension sucks.

Lean is the roll bars, not the shocks. Nothing to do with the shocks.

This is not true. Sway bars do affect sway but it's far from the only factor. The springs and shocks absolutely make a marked difference in body roll.

My truck doesn't roll in turns anymore - I did not upgrade my roll bars, you mean sway bars right o_O.

upgraded springs all around will reduce/eliminate body roll.

Yes, true. Springs will make a difference. Shocks won't though.

Still not true. Compression damping directly correlates to sway. Admittedly less so than the springs but none the less.

I don’t have an answer to the original question but this issue is exactly why I bought a Sport instead of an OR. I was dead set on wanting the Off Road until I test drove it.

I wouldnt say my truck is stiffer after upgrading suspension (6112s and Icon 2.0 rears) but it definitely leans less and feels more planted - could also have something to do with heavier tires?

It's going to be a long time until I upgrade the suspension as great as some of them sound. For now, just removing the front sway bar made things perfect for my Sport. It worked stellar off road and I have been hustling it more and more in corners on road. It's a fun drive without all the harshness over uneven stuff.

Hey thanks everyone...been looking forward to driving a sport.... seems to be more around here than others but had been hearing of the ...road tuned... suspension and it's supposed roughness...just trying to figure out what to do if I don't like myself.... thanks, arc . I'm all ears....

I swapped my Sport suspension for an OR suspension. Big difference. I don't think just changing the shocks/struts would give you a change
as noticeable as also swapping the front springs. Plus it's easier to rip out the old strut assembly and pop in the replacement, rather than messing
with removing the springs from the struts.

One of the reasons I chose my Lmtd is the ride.

IMHO, possibly only in my head to an extent, the ride is better on road in my limited than the Sport or OR. The Sport felt too stiff and the OR was a bit too soft and spongy for my taste. The limited also had a few options I wanted that they did not have on the Sports and OR's for 2017. I love the way my truck drives and handles on road. I don't "off road", though I know I have capability that exceeds many other branded trucks.

My truck was a but stiff at first as well, but not as stiff as the Sport. Once I look at the pressure and saw it was running 42 lbs cold in all the tires off the lot I reduced the pressure and it rides great. I understand many vehicles are hauled with higher than normal tire pressures.

Since my dealer's deal was "free" nitro-fill, tint, drive train warranty for life, and pin striping (thankfully only cars are striped not trucks) I went back and told service that all tires were over inflated on delivery. He responded that they are sometimes transported with higher pressures. So I asked him why that would be an issue if they emptied and nitro-filled all the tires. He then said he would have it "checked" and sent it into the shop. I got the truck back with an apology, gas card, 4 tires at 35 lbs, and a new set of valve caps displaying the Nitro-fill logo. I have not dropped and checked the spare.

The biggest problem I have with my off road is the hammering of the tires at highway speeds because those little yellow shocks are not up for the job. Now my tires are noisy and they are offering me a free alignment, what I need is better shocks and new tires or give me my 33k back.

I had a 16 Sport that I got rid of the last month. The ride quality was absolutely horrible. People shoot back with "Well it's a truck, not a sedan", but it had the worst ride quality of any vehicle I've ever owned, even my infamous 1997 Chevy S-10. My Tundra rides like a Cadillac in comparison. I'd either avoid the sport or like you are thinking, put different shocks on it.

I have a 17 Sport DCSB MT w/ 25k and love driving everyday!! I am 98% pavement/dirt roads/class 6 (little offroad) and I find the ride / handling great. I personally hate mush rides, so this fits me. Here in NH we have plenty of shit pavement, but maybe better than city folks
