Ok I have been reading through a lot of pages here and on the other post as well as facebook. I am almost ready to pull the trigger and had a couple extra questions, nicely some were answered in this post.

After purchasing everything, do you get all future releases (if applicable) for free, just need to download them when available? What happens if you put in a different octane compared to your tune, will the truck still run, just not have the same performance? Is the software still tie to a single computer or is it easy enough to switch computers later if I have to? I only ask because I do not have a windows laptop so I was going to use one from work, but that laptop could go away at some time in the future or get a new image/OS on it. What happens if flash doesn't work, is truck still drive able or is it, for lack of better terms, dead until you can re-flash it correctly?

I have read a lot of positive things and even though the software and OBDII connector are pricey together, it sounds like this is ever so worth it.

Random question - running 1.04 91 oct. tune with 93 pump gas... my truck went from getting 17/18 mpg to now 14/15? I do mostly city driving - short trips. Anyone else experience a material drop in MPG or could it be the truck hasnt gotten used to the new tune yet? I've probably only driven 200 miles at this point.

Yes you will get updates. With the new license I’m not sure exactly how it will work. Mat might have to send them out. As far as octane you must use octane greater or equal to your tune. So if your using the 87 tune. You can use 89 or 93 without issues. However if your using the 91 tune then you cannot use 89 or 87 as you would get spark knock (detonation). If you need to restore or replace your computer just email Mat and he will transfer your license.

Awesome. It's damn hard to read through over 950 pages and I have been searching key words as I find ones to search so thanks for saving me some time. I think i'm going to pull the trigger on this one

Definitely not normal. I mean if I do a cold start and drive a mile then I'm gonna be 11mpgs... which was the same-ish stock. But anything over a mile or 2, my MPGs climb to 18-21 so 14/15 is not normal

I am very pleased to announce that our tune has met ALL of Toyotas OEM Federal Emissions compliance requirements
NOX, KNOX, THC, CO2, CO, etc. We will have the data available soon.

Our tune was also independently tested versus a stock vehicle for 500 miles and a 2mpg improvement was determined with our 91 octane file.

91 is not readily available where I live as very few stations carry it. Most of them only carry 87,89 and 93. Do you have a tune to take full advantage of the 93? If not, how much better is the tune for the 91 over the 87? Is it worth the extra expense?

Is this for 1.03 or 1.04 (or both)? Seems 1.04 runs slightly less rich than even 1.03 is the only reason I ask

We will be developing a 93 specific tune, but for now running the 91 on 93 is perfectly fine.

Try it and see what you think. For me I can only get 93 (and he has mentioned a 93 map coming in the fall timeframe) and I run the 91 tune. I've run 87 and it's a great improvement over stock but the responsiveness, smoothness, and extra power is very noticeable to me on the 91 tune. Plus I just feel like this Lexus-born engine prefers premium. My truck stock or otherwise has always run better on premium FWIW

The improvements in MPGs w/ the tune just about offsets the cost of premium for me now.

Do we also need to purchase a reflash adapter or is just the $169 unit enough @OVTune

From the blog: "Our aim is to develop hardware components, and match that with tuning to increase torque as much as possible under 3500 RPM. A tuned intake, exhaust, and camshafts are in the works. (Also force induction...........)"

    Nice!
