Anyone know where I can find the private party value for a used 2010 Tacoma? Not on KBB or Edmunds yet.

I would assume you would have to go off of 2009 pricing.

I found a 2010 4wd, DC, Auto, TRD off road and tow pack with 5,500 miles. This is the same truck I've been looking for new. I can buy a new one for just under $29K with no doc fee. The new truck also comes with the full warranty, 2 year maintenance plan and better financing rates (not to mention.. it's new!!!). If I can buy a new one for under $29K, what's a reasonable price for the same truck with 5,500 miles?

I'd say that the truck looses 10% driving it off of the lot (that's $3K after taxes). I'd offer $25,000 and see if they bite, maybe go up another $500.

That's exactly what I offered earlier today. He responded that the lowest he would be comfortable taking is $27,500. I just don't think that's a big enough savings to justify buying a used truck. Like you said, I would consider going up to $25,500 or possibly even $26K, but that would be stretching it. Even though it only has 5,500 miles, it's still a used truck.

Yeah, but this is a Tacoma and "standard" rules of thumb for used values over the first couple of years don't seem to make sense. When I was looking around for a Tacoma last year at this time, I was pricing 07-08's. Same thing applied, I could buy a new 09 for only $1000-2000 more then the used one, so I just bought the new one.
