I grew up having well water in MI. Typically a water softener is required. Ours was a whole house filter in MI. You could look at a whole house or individual filters for bathroom/kitchens. My parents now just have an RO filter installed for the kitchen where they live in TN.

Dismal Swamp has some trails but I haven't been. I saw an older truck take a power line trail off of Woodlake Dr, across from the new Chesapeake Kroger. I don't know if it was illegal, but I'm not willing to try it until I find out.

My state inspection failed for the reverse lights being LED not the OE incandescent lamps. Seriously, two led bulbs for the reverse lights.

This was at First Team Toyota in Suffolk (Churchland)

IDK if you found anyone, my company has a powder coating machine. They'd probably quote low too, buy own powder and it'll be cheaper still. PM me if you still need something done.

Long story short, retrofits have been illegal in VA for awhile.

As a lifelong Virginian, I'll be the first to say VA is the worst when it comes to anything except Bacon or Beer Festivals.

Im going to bet since those are normally owned by the power company or some crap that is illegal. I would be willing to take a ride out and see even though im sure is all mud and ruts with minimal rocks and fun

Sealership is your main issue. Screw them guys

Just one reason why I don't have retrofits.
Well there you go. The stealership will most likely fail you for anything aftermarket. Checkered Flag Toyota did a complimentary "inspection" years ago when I had the free service done there during the first 24 months and they noted that I had LED tag lights which would not pass. I wonder how many "violations" they would find now?

The inspector at the Holland Road Auto Center at 356 S. Independence Blvd. seems to let some things go but he did catch my fog light anytime mod this time around so I had to fix that.

He let me go with the big fucking crack I have running right down the drivers side of my windshield courtesy of a dump truck on I95 in SC a few months back. He got me on LED reverse lights though...

Two weeks. That’s it! After that no more Virginia!!!

Try and get my shit registered in AZ

Crazy! I'd be more concerned with a cracked windshield than lights that only come on in reverse.

Checkered Flag didn't like the amber Lamin-X film on my fog lights but other places either don't notice or don't have an issue with it.

so update from my little story.... the owner of CW Customs, a local Retrofitter, drove about an hour to bring me some stock headlights to install so I can get my sticker. still thanking him for going out of his way.... now back to the garage at the inspection station.... guy calls me into the garage and say "let me show you something". takes his crow bar and starts prying on my icon UCA and compressing my coil overs and I quote " see this cheap shit here, you never install garbage on a nice truck you need to figure out who put this on and take it off." I laughed so hard in his face, he never heard of Icons. so much more questionable "inspections" went down its was hard not to laugh at the guy. poor dude was so angry and I have no idea why.

basically the retrofits are illegal as said in the previous posts, if you're going to retrofit, have a set of stockers for inspection time.

so can anyone explain why they're illegal? where in the book does it say it? because they're not installed from the factory?

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
It's always been illegal it's just that law enforcement is cracking down on local businesses who do inspections. My old shop I go to won't pass my truck anymore. He got an earfull from portsmouth PD apparently.

    https://law.lis.virginia.gov/admincode/title19/agency30/chapter70/section510/

Starr Motors in Suffolk generally with pass anything if you know them well. They inspect a lot of jeeps.
