Never saw water in the cab, but some stains started to appear in my headliner a few months ago. Here is the aftermath.

I cracked mine via canoe. After posting here, it sounds like dealership trip for a fix. No problem, they will get me in quickly. Got a call a few hours later, the assemblies are on national back order... Looks like a tape for me as I wait. Anyhoo, never had the leak though.

No way, that sucks. At least it isn't winter. I remember reading about you cracking yours.

Side note, does anyone know when they fixed this issue or if it is still happening? I assume 2018 has it figured out, but they went way longer with low transmission fluid than I would have expected so I just want to know if this is something you watch for.

 It's happened to me. The 2nd gen light works on non-trd version 3rd gens.

    In for the MESOJDM upgrade.

Also bought a new OEM replacement off epay from a taco dealer for around $100. That one is sitting on my work bench. If I pull my headliner down, I'm going full bore MESOJDM shtuff.

I asked this same question in a similar thread but didn't get a response. From reading I have yet to see one that was no a 2018. Sure hope that its been fixed, I still keep an eye on the headliner after rain/wash.

The fail on mine looks like this and others with the same issue:

Wow surprising the gasket cracked as well. I guess the overtightening issue is pretty evident.

Is there a known date of manufacture after which they fixed this at the factory? With summer here in Florida, now I'm worried about mine.

Don't know, but if it helps my '17 OR was assembled in August 2017 in Baja and I had to get my 3rd brake light replaced for leaking last week

Hmmm....Mine was June '17 in Texas. Wonder if it could be a specific manufacturing plant with the issue. Anyone with a Texas-built truck with the leaking light?

Aside from the stickied threads about TSBs and recalls on this forum, 900+ page threads about the transmission/driveability, etc. :)

Well, that's not very settling. Are all the leaks caused by a visible splitting of the gasket?

Nothing visible that I’m aware of. Mine started with condensation that would show up some mornings on the inside of the windshield. It wasn’t until a heavy rain that I realized the back seat was wet one day.

    When @mesojdm solves problems I didn't even know I had (#gasshole )

A huge thanks to him for parting with a KC prototype to get me running before he is in full production. I need to scrounge my misc bins for a gasket and some hardware and I'll make a new video with all of my newfound problems solved :D

Just found out my 3rd brake light is leaking on my way home today from work in a heavy rain. Does anyone know if the extended warranty covers this?
