Back in HS I had a SWEET sub and amp setup in my 4runner. Was riding around one day and somehow - & + crossed and I thought a gun went off in the back seat. I've respected the hell out of electricity ever since.

 

480? I thought it was 440. I have heard people getting shocked by that. It grabs you and wont let you go.

 

Technically it's 3 phase 460v.

 

All depends on if it's intentional/expected or not. I built a piece of equipment at work that discharges capacitors charged to 10 kV DC for doing ESD testing. It's fun times.

That can happen with regular wall voltage. Higher voltages/currents are more likely to do it, but DC power is more dangerous than AC power. The oscillations in AC power setup a contraction/relaxation in your muscles, so you're actually more likely to let go. DC power is continuous, so your muscles just contract until the power shuts off.

 

Holly fuck not good I had one of my guys 2 years ago wire 480V into a 240V cooling tower motor it was not pretty as a $4k motor was toasted
