First thing I did when I got home was take those off. And yes put the bolts back in when you're done

    Reattach bolts, yes.

The factory mud guards are awful. They are too stiff and bottom-out on rocks off-road.

It seems like Toyotas have always had mud flaps.

They almost look odd without them.

My SR never had them and that's OK.

I have factory guards on mine. Hated the way they looked and took them off. Two months of driving without them and my doors felt like sandpaper. Back on they went. The amount of rocks that I hear hit the guards and my steps is pretty crazy, and I just drive on highways. Happy they aren't hitting my paint.

Im selling mine in the marketplace! Taking trades for two six packs of Dechutes Black Butte Porter, but no inquiries yet. Maybe I’m asking too much? :pout:

Take the fuckers off. They get hooked on to everything and collect mud.

    ...stuff
They look a little funky but better than tearing up and pitting the rockers.

I took mine off so I didn't catch any ice chunks or curbs. Does anyone know of any soft mudflaps?

I took my hard plastic flaps off! It seems there are several soft flaps on the market but all seem you have to trim or fiddle with to put them on. Then if you do rocks or any heavy off roading they can get ripped off. If my turd gen had the soft ones as my gen1 I probably would have left them on and took my chances. Since I am doing more than just highway and beach driving now, I can’t see spending the money to chance them getting torn..

    OEM everything, almost.
Does your paint really get messed up just from daily driving? Or mainly just when offroading?

Can happen during daily driving. Rocks, pebbles, gravel, sand is everywhere.

My truck didn’t come with mudflaps...30k miles later I haven’t noticed any chips or significant scratched paint.

I don’t know what kind of roads y’all are driving on....

Northeastern, salty, slushy, sandy roads. Lots of gravel in my driveway and work parking lot. That shit flings into the guards pretty easily.
