What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I’ll try more hammering tomorrow then and possible try to go get another alignment after. I’m not sure if the fire stone that I go to will know how to adjust alignment for lifted trucks.

@Speedytech7 or others, What is the difference in 95-97 leafs and 98-04? Is it length? Where is the difference, the front hanger?

i got mine mounted and i can take some pictures of the brackets that bolt to the frame later today.

 

When did you purchase? How secure is it? The one I helped with was terrible.

 

3'' longer from 98-04.

2'' more forward front hanger, 1'' further back shackle.

My SCS wheels have 3.5" BS and we mocked up with the wheel/tire on. All good.

 

flange gasket between cat and muffler on an '04 3.4.

Anyone know the diameter of the pipe? I need to fabricate some extra thick gaskets. Mine keep loosening up and giving me an exhaust leak, ergo the dreaded PO420 code is always soon to follow.

I'm at work and don't have the option of just measuring.

Overall length is 3 or 4" shorter, they're Toyota pickup sized leafs

Both hangers, front goes forward one in and rear goes back two for 98-04 leafs to fit

 

I purchased it this year around february. It feels like it can take a hit from a bull and keep everything safe. The brackets that bolted to the frame are nice and heavy. Good feeling for robustness. I believe ARB have redesigned there products when people complained or had problems with them. They are a good company and it shows in there products.

Eh, I don't remember, Monte might be right. Kind of a moot point because why would anyone go to the effort just to put on 98-04 leafs when the same effort will let you mount up chevy 63s or something even better

I would not call chevy 63s an upgrade.

 

You should be fine with expo's I had about 800-900 pounds of horse feed and concrete in the bed and it still held up with at least 2"-2.5" of lift. When you are unloaded there closer to 4" of lift. And the 500 pound limit is for 3" lift so your going to be fine.
