Anybody know where to find pure gas (no ethanol) in the DFW? I found one station in Weatherford that has it, but don’t know anywhere in the Metroplex to find it. Thanks.

There is an app, its called puregas, and you can find non ethanol stations based on your gps location and it will give you directions to the station. Also https://www.pure-gas.org/ is the website to find stations.

Thanks! Downloaded app and it is cool, but closest pure gas is 22.6 miles from my house. Looks like there isn’t any pure gas in Dallas proper, just suburbs or Fort Worth.

You're welcome. That´s odd, seems like a big city would have it more accessible. Either way, you are fine running ethanol in your truck, unless it sits for extended periods of time. If you are using it every few days you are keeping it stirred up and refilling with fresh. We always recommend ethanol free to our boat customers, ethanol can wreak havoc on outdoor power equipment.

Won't make your truck run better.

Not sure why you are looking for 0e, but a few points..........

0e is a must for older lawn equipment, boats, etc. I've not done any research, but suspect newish equipment may be built to compensate.

In a vehicle of the last 30 years or so it will raise MPG . However, you'll spend more than it's worth to do so on a $/mile basis.

When I would compete with my little race prepped street car in the NE area in the fall, it's what I looked for to get a bit more performance. But not because it was 0e per se, but because it was the fuel less impacted by their horrid 'winter blends'.

Big issue with ethanol free around me is that they use above ground storage tanks. In the summer time you are getting water from the condensation. Agree that unless you are running lawn equipment or a boat that it isn't worth the extra effort or expense. Not to mention that you have no guarantee that it really is or how much may actually be in your current blend.

A good bit of the places with pure gas on the app’s list were Zimmerer Kubota dealers, so probably for lawn mowers and the like as you guys are saying.

I don’t get it often, but pure gas does seem to give me better gas mileage. I know it probably isn’t worth it because of the extra cost, but I do like to get more miles per tank and having to fill up. Especially now that I have load range e KO2s, which hurt my mileage some.

You can buy a test tube similar to one I use. It's pretty simple, fill to line with water, fill to next line with gas sample, shake and let sit. It will settle and show the ethanol percentage. Some gas stations hate it when I show up with this in hand.

Its not as much as the equipment being able to run ethanol, its more the toll it takes on fuel lines. Mercury had to redesign the line from the tank to engine to accommodate ethanol.
Old line that ethanol ate the liner

The four major counties in DFW are all supposed to have the ethanol gas. Have to go outside of those to find it.

The computer in the truck is too smart, you may get better performance and mileage for a while. but the will adjust and return to normal running. I have done this twice. Don't waste your money!

The taco is designed to run on up to 15% ethanol I believe. What's the concern without it?

Never been to Dallas so dunno is gas different there? More ethanol than that?

Depending on the brand you can also just buy premium.

Here Petro Canada, Esso, and mobile 1 all use ethanol across the line but Pioneer and Shell 91 octane fuel is 0 ethanol.

Shoot. Well, it’s fun while it lasts! And, since I only get to do it every now and again since pure gas is hard to get in the DFW, my computer doesn’t have time to adjust.
